BALTIMORE MEDIATION
20-HOUR MEDIATION AND CONFLICT TRANSFORMATION PROFESSIONAL SKILLS TRAINING

Focused on Sources of Conflict and Systems Approach

We have opened the registration process for our basic 20-hour basic mediation training, happening every year in October. This year, we are bringing together professionals from a wide variety of fields, from attorneys, educators, social workers, and managers, to government employees and managers, while also harnessing the knowledge and experience of some of our newest team members, Judge Ron Karasic and mediator Ann Crowley.

The program will focus mainly on a system approach of conflict transformation, trying to integrate the components of the mediation process in a more holistic view of conflict resolution and its day to day applicability.

Call us today at (443) 524-0833 and register to participate!

Dates: Wednesday, October 23, (5pm-9pm), Thursday, October 24, (9am-5:30pm), Friday, October 25, (9am-5:30pm)
Location: The Inn at the Colonnade, 4 W University Pkwy., Baltimore, MD 21218
Cost: $795

Our interactive three-day training will focus on assisting participants with understanding the mediation process in relation to their own personality preferences and beliefs, understanding the relational approach to conflict and working with basic conflict transformation principles of mediation, learning and applying communication and intervention skills, and integrating these skills in practical applications of mediation, through role-plays, group demonstrations and fish-bowl discussions. Each participant will also receive individual feedback from highly trained, experienced mediators and coaches, and will also learn how to give feedback to their colleagues in training.

Our founder and lead trainer, Louise Phipps Senft has over 30 years of mediation practice, is the former President of the Maryland Council on Dispute Resolution, a former faculty member at the Harvard Law School Program on Negotiation Insight Initiative and currently an adjunct Professor teaching Mediation at University of Maryland School of Law.

At the end of the training will be provided with a certificate, which is approved by the Association for Conflict Resolution, recognized by the Federal Shared Neutrals Program, and may satisfy the requirements of state entities such as the Maryland Circuit Courts and MACRO. It may be used to apply for state circuit court rosters of approved mediators and for continuing education credits from the participant’s accrediting institution.
