Michael Butler (Col ’73, Grad ’80 CM) retired from the U.S. Department of State after a 30-year career in the Foreign Service. His final assignment was as deputy chief of mission at the U.S. Embassy in Helsinki. Mr. Butler and his wife, Denise, reside in Williamsburg, Va., where he is currently a visiting professor of history at the College of William and Mary. The Butlers’ sons, Geoffrey Butler (Col ’02) and Andrew Butler (Col ’04); and daughter-in-law, Jamie Jennings (Col ’05 L/M), are also Wahoos.
