Stan Haynes (Law ’83)
Stan Haynes (Law ’83) has published President-Making in the Gilded Age: The Nominating Conventions of 1876–1900 (McFarland & Co.). The book analyzes the U.S. presidential nominating conventions at the turn of the 20th century, discussing their pageantry, drama, deal-making and often surprising outcomes. Mr. Haynes practices law at Semmes, Bowen & Semmes and lives in Ellicott City, Maryland.
Stan Haynes (Law ’83)
Stan M. Haynes (Law ’83) has been a practicing attorney in Baltimore since 1983. He has a lifelong interest in American political history, particularly concerning the presidency, and recently published a book, The First American Political Conventions: Transforming Presidential Nominations, 1832-1872. His son, Nathaniel Haynes (Engr ’12), graduated from the University this spring.
