Richard Smith

Richard B. “Dick” Smith (Col ’71 L/M) retired from the Office of the Attorney General in Virginia. Among other duties during his 35 years in the criminal litigation section, he briefed and presented oral arguments in more than 400 cases in the Virginia and federal appellate courts, including the Supreme Court of Virginia and the Supreme Court of the United States. He and his wife, Jane Atkinson Smith (Educ ’76), continue to reside near Richmond, Va.
