John Buford

John Buford (Col ’99 L/M) was elected in October 2010 to the partnership of Brooks, Pierce, McLendon, Humphrey & Leonard, where he practices business litigation. He joined the firm in 2003. Among other honors, Mr. Buford received the Charles F. Blanchard Young Lawyer of the Year Award from the North Carolina Bar Association in June 2010 and was named a North Carolina Super Lawyers “Rising Star” in business litigation by Law & Politics magazine in February 2010. He lives in Greensboro, N.C., with his wife, Anne Peters Buford (Col ’99 L/M), who owns Avonlea Consulting, a consulting firm for nonprofit organizations. They have a son, Will, 3.
