Michael Sorrell
Michael Sorrell (Col ’07, Law ’10)
Michael Ronald Sorrell Jr. (Col ’07, Law ’10) and Paris Michelle Ratliff (Col ’07 L/M) were married on Aug. 7, 2010, in Richmond, Va. The couple met while undergraduates at the University. Mr. Sorrell went on to attend the University of Virginia School of Law, serving as an executive editor of the Virginia Law Review and being inducted into the Order of the Coif. Ms. Ratliff attended the University of Richmond’s T.C. Williams School of Law and graduated with honors. Both received their juris doctor degrees in May 2010 and passed the Virginia Bar exam two months later. Three other Wahoos were key participants in the wedding ceremony: Nikola Juris-Nable (Col ’07) of Baltimore served as matron of honor, and David Bowen (Col ’08 L/M) of Tyler, Texas, and A.J. Burton (Law ’10) of Bethesda, Md., served as head ushers. The Crossings in Glen Allen, Va., was the site of the reception. Mr. Sorrell is serving a one-year clerkship with the Honorable Robert E. Payne in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Virginia, in Richmond. Ms. Ratliff joined the law firm of LeClairRyan, based in Richmond, in January 2011. The couple resides in Richmond.
