Jo Whitten May (Educ ’57) has been appointed professor emeritus at Winston-Salem State University in recognition of her years of service in the School of Education and Human Performance.  Ms.  May was presented a special award in recognition of 33 years of meritorious service at WSSU by the School of Education and Human Performance at a graduation gala that honored students and their families.  Ms. May’s university career has focused on the education of teachers and therapists who work with children who have special needs.  Her specialty certifications are in speech/language pathology, learning disabilities, birth-kindergarten, and child development.
