Robert Light (Col ’76 CM)
Robert “Cham” Light Jr. (Col ’76 CM) continues to serve his community in Lynchburg, Virginia. He is serving his third term on the board of trustees of the Library of Virginia, and he serves as president of the board of trustees of the Jones Memorial Library. He is beginning his 17th year as an adjunct professor at Liberty University School of Law teaching courses in land use, insurance law and real estate transactions and development. Mr. Light is chair of the bicentennial committee at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and is serving his third term on the Lynchburg Planning Commission.

Robert Chambliss “Cham” Light Jr. (Col ’76 L/M) was the lead panelist in a Virginia Law Foundation continuing legal education seminar on “Improving Your Results in Bodily Injury Claims” on Oct. 20, 2017. For his presentation, Mr. Light drew on more than 30 years as an assistant general counsel and claims director with Nationwide Insurance Company.

Cham Light (Col ’76 L/M) has been re-appointed to the Board of the Library of Virginia by Governor McAullfie. He is the third different VA Governor who has appointed Cham to the Board. Cham just finished his second five year term on the Board having served two terms as Chair, from 2015–2017.

Robert Chambliss “Cham” Light Jr. (Col ’76 L/M) is serving his second consecutive term as chairman of the Library of Virginia in Richmond, which is the library and state archives for the Commonwealth. Mr. Light is also vice chairman of the Lynchburg Planning Commission.
