Don Slesnick II (Col ’65 L/M) was recognized for his philanthropic efforts and dedication to the Coral Gables, Florida, community and honored with the 2018 Leadership Florida® Distinguished Member Award at the group’s annual meeting. The award is presented to a Leadership Florida member whose leadership activities and character illustrate the highest standards of the organization, and whose activities leave a lasting impact on the state of Florida. Slesnick served four terms as mayor of Coral Gables (2001-2011).

Donald D. “Don” Slesnick (Col ’65 L/M) was installed as president and chair of the Orange Bowl for 2017-18. He served as the mayor of Coral Gables, Florida for 10 years and is the managing partner of the Law Offices of Slesnick & Casey.

Donald Slesnick (Col ’65 CM) has received the 2016 American Bar Association Solo, Small Firm and General Practice Division’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Mr. Slesnick is managing partner of Slesnick & Casey in Coral Gables, Florida. He has been in private practice since 1976 and has held labor relations positions with Miami-Dade County Public Schools and the Miami-Dade Police Department. Mr. Slesnick has received numerous other awards, including the ABA Distinguished Service Award and the U.S. Army’s Outstanding Civilian Service Award. In 2011, he concluded 10 years as the mayor of Coral Gables.

Donald Slesnick (Col ’65 CM) has been elected president of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers for 2015. He was inducted as a fellow of the organization in 1996 and has served on its board of governors for the past decade. Mr. Slesnick is managing partner for the law firm of Slesnick & Casey in Coral Gables, Florida; he has been in private practice since 1976, representing public sector employee organizations.

The institute is a nonprofit organization affiliated with the State University System of Florida that performs research studies about key government issues and policies in Florida. Mr. Slesnick is a former mayor of the city of Coral Gables, Fla.

Don Slesnick (Col ’65 L/M) was named Citizen of the Year by the Kiwanis Clubs of Dade and Monroe in Florida. Mr. Slesnick serves in the American Bar Association’s House of Delegates. He is also a member of the Orange Bowl Committee, a board member of the Coral Gables Art Cinema and a founding member of the Coral Gables Museum.
