Other announcement on November 16, 2015

Aniruddh Patel (Col ’87) has created a video course, Music and the Brain, for The Teaching Company’s The Great Courses series. The course explains how music serves as a link between sound processing and all the other things brains do, such as moving, planning, remembering, imagining and feeling. It also covers the evolution of musicality (and how integral it is to humanity), the neurological sources of music’s emotional power and the impact of regular engagement with music on brain structure and function. Mr. Patel is a professor of psychology at Tufts University, where his research focuses on the cognitive neuroscience of music.
