Byron Dickson (Arch ’63 CM), was inducted into the Salem (Virginia) Educational Foundation and Alumni Association Hall of Fame on April 26th, 2023. The five inductees were recognized for major achievements in their chosen fields of education and architecture.

Byron Dickson (Arch ’63 CM), lead practitioner at Dickson Architects & Associates, has been appointed to a four-year term on the City of Roanoke Architectural Review Board. Dickson Architects, which serves Southwest Virginia and adjoining states, celebrated its 50th anniversary June 7.

Byron Dickson (Arch ’63) has been awarded the Federal Aviation Administration’s Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award, which recognizes pilots who have demonstrated professionalism, skill and aviation expertise by maintaining safe operations for 50 or more years. Mr. Dickson is president and CEO of Roanoke-based Dickson Architects & Associates and the author of The National D-Day Memorial: The Evolution of an Idea (Bison Printing, 2011).
