Robert Griffin

Robert Edwards Griffin (Col ’02 CM) and his wife, Claire, welcomed a daughter, Hazel Chislett, on Mar. 16, 2021. Hazel joins her older brothers, Gordon Charles and Thomas Murphy, and is granddaughter of Gordon Dix Griffin Jr. (Arch ’72 CM). The family lives in Huntsville, Alabama.

Robert Edwards Griffin (Col ’02 L/M) was appointed associate dean for the College of Science at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, a research intensive institution. Griffin will help lead a college of approximately 100 faculty, 2,000 students and $10 million in annual research expenditures. He is the son of Gordon Dix Griffin Jr. (Arch ’72 L/M).

Robert Edwards Griffin (Col ’02 L/M) and his wife, Claire, welcomed a second son, Thomas Murphy, on Feb. 9, 2019. Thomas joins his older brother, Gordon Charles, and is grandson of Gordon Dix Griffin Jr. (Arch ’72 L/M). The family lives in Huntsville, Alabama.

Robert Griffin (Col ’02 L/M) was promoted to associate professor in the department of atmospheric science at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, where he leads interdisciplinary NASA Applied Sciences research programs. Griffin is the son of Gordon Griffin (Arch ’72 L/M).
