Donald Johnston (Col ’66 CM)
Donald Johnston (Col ’66 CM) has been appointed by the Michigan Supreme Court to his fourth consecutive two-year term as chief judge of the Kent County Circuit Court, 17th Judicial Circuit of Michigan. In that role, he is responsible for the administration of a 13-judge general jurisdiction trial court with more than 350 employees. He joined the Kent County bench in 1989 and, before that, served for 10 years as a judge of the Grand Rapids District Court, 61st Judicial District of Michigan. He and his wife, Shaula, live in Grand Rapids and have three children, including sons Stewart M. Johnston (Col ’96 L/M) and Scott M. Johnston (Col ’97 L/M), and four grandchildren.
