Laura DeLuca (Col ’85 CM) and Leah Bassoff won the 2015 Colorado Book Award for young adult literature for their book, Lost Girl Found, published by the Groundwood Books imprint of House of Anansi Press.

Laura DeLuca (Col ’85 CM) is an assistant professor of environmental studies and peace studies at Naropa University, a private liberal arts institution in Boulder, Colo. The Buddhist-inspired university combines contemplative studies with traditional Western scholastic and artistic disciplines. Previously, Ms. DeLuca taught anthropology and global studies at the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Laura DeLuca (Col ’85 L/M) has been accepted on the Fulbright Specialist Program roster and is awaiting an assignment in South Africa, where she will continue work with the Africa Institute of South Africa in Pretoria. She will be co-editor of a book that will focus on community-based peacebuilding in Africa. Ms. DeLuca has also been selected the program director for the University of Colorado’s Global Seminar in Tanzania.
