Heather Smith (Col ’98) has been elected to the board of directors of the American Medical Association. She completed a postdoctorate fellowship in health services through the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholars Program at Yale University. There, she researched health equity, with a focus on disparities for women and adolescents, particularly those from marginalized and underserved populations. She investigated the impact of local and federal policies on issues including access to care, information and resource utilization. Dr. Smith is now an assistant professor in the department of obstetrics and gynecology and women’s health at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University in the Bronx, New York.
