Webster Santos (Col ’97, Grad ’02) is an associate professor of chemistry at Virginia Tech. An organic chemist, he has been working on a compound that might be used in a drug to fight fibrosis. Mr. Santos and his research partner, Kevin Lynch, professor and vice chair of pharmacology at U.Va., were awarded a $1.15 million three-year grant from the National Institutes of Health to continue their research on what would be the first drug to treat fibrosis pathology.
