Kari Evans (Col ’11 CM) received a U.S. Department of State Critical Language Scholarship to study Arabic in an intensive language institute in Rabat, Morocco, during the summer of 2013. Ms. Evans, a graduate student focusing on Middle Eastern studies in the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University, is one of 610 U.S. undergraduate and graduate students to receive the scholarship in 2013. The CLS Program is part of a U.S. government effort to expand the number of Americans studying and mastering critical foreign languages. It provides fully funded, group-based intensive language instruction and structured cultural enrichment experiences.
