Judith Baroody (Grad ’85 CM) published her third work of fiction, Return of the Silent Sovereign, a sci-fi fantasy mix of Star Trek and Wonder Woman with a twist of Romeo and Juliet. Baroody retired from the foreign service at the rank of minister-counselor and continues to work part-time for the Department of State.

Judith Baroody (Grad ’85 CM) published her second book of short stories, Paris Gold: Ten Tales of Treasures Lost and Found in 2022. Like the first, Casablanca Blue, Paris Blue is a collection of fiction and fantasy based on her experiences and travel. Judith has worked as a foreign service officer, professor and journalist. She is also the author of the non-fiction Media Access and the Military.

Judith Baroody (Grad ’85 CM) published Casablanca Blue: Tales of Revenge, Romance and Riches on Amazon. The 10 short stories are set in locations around the world, including the University of Virginia, the Farmington Country Club, Paris, Casablanca, Santiago, and Hollywood. Baroody previously published a textbook, Media Access and the Military, now in its fifth edition, and contributed a chapter to Quills to Tweets: How America Communicates about War and Revolution. She retired from the Foreign Service after 33 years and lives in Northern Virginia with her husband, Dr. Richard Krueger.

Judith Baroody (Grad ’85 CM) has been named the U.S. State Department’s foreign policy adviser to the Defense Logistics Agency, the Department of Defense’s largest logistics combat support agency. The DLA, based out of headquarters at Fort Belvoir in Virginia, provides worldwide support to the military services as well as several civilian agencies and foreign countries.

Judith Baroody (Grad ’85) has been promoted to minister counselor in the U.S. Foreign Service, a ranking equivalent to that of a two-star general. During her career with the State Department, she has served in Syria, Israel, Morocco, Cyprus, Chile and Iraq, and is currently in charge of public affairs for the U.S. Embassy in Paris. She is also chairman of the France-American Educational Exchange Commission (Fulbright).
