Anthony Bibus (Grad ’70)
Anthony Bibus (Grad ’70) has retired to care for family at home. He is a licensed independent social worker and professor emeritus in the social work department at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, where he has taught since 1992, serving as department chair from 2000 to 2009 and as president of the faculty senate from 2005 to 2007. After graduating from the University, he served as a probation counselor in Virginia for four years before moving to Minnesota, where he practiced social work in child welfare. In 2012, he received a lifetime achievement award from the Minnesota chapter of the National Association of Social Workers. Mr. Bibus’ most recent publication is Regulating Social Work: A Primer on Licensing Practice, co-authored with Dr. Needha Boutté-Queen and published by Lyceum Books in 2011.
