Jennifer Taylor Hodge (Col ’91 L/M) wrote a nonfiction piece, Mother Dearly Loved Flowers, which was published in April in the Smithfield Review, a journal of history west of the Blue Ridge. Ms. Hodge adapted the piece from her 2009 master’s thesis from Hollins University about the women involved in the inspiration and creation of the Beale Memorial Garden at Hollins as well as the recent restoration by the Garden Club of Virginia. Ms. Hodge lives in Blacksburg, Va., and is the daughter of H. Robert Taylor (Col ’67 L/M).
