Justin Humphreys (Col ’01) has been nominated for a Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Award for Book of the Year for his recent biography George Pal: Man of Tomorrow. 

Justin Humphreys (Col ’01) has been nominated for the Theatre Library Association’s Richard Wall Memorial Award for his book George Pal: Man of Tomorrow. The award recognizes performing arts scholarship with exemplary use and interpretation of library and archival collections. 

Justin Humphreys (Col ’01) wrote the introduction to a new edition of The Man Who Fell to Earth, published by Centipede Press. 

Justin Humphreys (Col ’01) recorded audio commentaries for the upcoming BluRay releases of the films The Naked Jungle, Conquest of Space, and The Big Mouth (all released by Imprint Films), and also for the Dr. Phibes double-feature BluRay set (from Kino Lorber Studio Classics). He will be featured hosting two documentary featurettes on the BluRay of The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm (Warner Archive). 

Justin Humphreys (Col ’01) appears on two recent BluRay video releases: he recorded an audio commentary for Flight to Mars and wrote and narrated a documentary included on The Brotherhood of Satan. 

Justin Humphreys (Col ’01) published a book, The Dr. Phibes Companion: The Morbidly Romantic History of the Classic Vincent Price Horror Film Series, which recently won the Rondo Hatton Memorial Award for Book of the Year.

Justin Humphreys (Col ’01) cataloged the original Robby the Robot prop from the 1956 film Forbidden Planet, which recently set a world record for the most expensive movie prop to ever sell at auction. The robot’s record-breaking sale for $5.3 million was covered by the New York Times, CBS News and other news outlets.

Justin Humphreys (Col ’01) wrote and narrated a 48-minute “making of” essay, “What the Devil Hath Joined Together,” for the British Blu-Ray disc release of Brian De Palma’s Sisters. He also provided a supplemental interview recording for the disc. Mr. Humphreys’ latest book, Interviews Too Shocking to Print! is due out from BearManor Media later this year.

Justin Humphreys (Col ’01) recorded the audio commentary for the Blu-ray disc release of the 1971 horror film The Abominable Dr. Phibes. It was released in October 2013 as part of The Vincent Price Collection, a Blu-ray box set from Scream Factory Video.
