Nayna Agrawal (Col ’98) received a commission from the Bechdel Project in Brooklyn, New York for her play, Brad Pitt’s My Bitch. Her play, Slut, will be produced this October in Arkansas.
Nayna Agrawal (Col ’98)
Nayna Agrawal (Col ’98) has had plays staged this year at the Signature Theatre in Washington, D.C., the Great Plains Theater Conference in Omaha, Nebraska and the Studio Tenn Theatre Company in Nashville, Tennessee . She also received Kuma Kahua Theatre’s annual playwright award. The Theatre is based in Hawaii and, in addition to a monetary award, offers the winning playwright the opportunity to have their work staged.
Nayna Agrawal (Col ’98)
Nayna Agrawal (Col ’98) has worked on six animation shows this year with Netflix, Mattel, DreamWorks and Apple. Her plays were workshopped and/or received readings with several Los Angeles and New York theater collectives. Her radio play, Plucker, was featured in an LA Times article and was selected for production by L.A.’s Antaeus Theater Company. She has been selected from 850 applicants to participate in the inaugural XYZ Salon for South Asian artists in Hollywood and will be paired with veteran comedy writer, Vera Santamaria for the year. She is currently a 2021 Cimientos playwright with NYC-based theater, Iati. She just signed with Disney to write on a new animation feature film.

Nayna Agrawal (Col ’98) is a 2019 ABC Disney TV Writers Program fellow. She is one of eight selected from 2,000 applicants. She recently joined ABC’s new rom-com hour-long show, The Baker and The Beauty, as a staff writer. Her play, Dharma, was selected for the Athena Reading Series in NYC in September.

Nayna Agrawal (Col ’98) is a 2018 Sesame Street Writer’s Room Fellow and was awarded a development deal. Her TV pilot “American Pia” was recognized at the New York TV Festival, and she has two play readings in New York later this year. She received a full scholarship to attend the Kenyon Playwrights’ Conference. Learn more here.
