Trent S. Dickey (Col ’77 L/M), invited by the All China Lawyers Association, spoke on “American Litigation, A Primer for Chinese Companies” at the December 2019 Global Lawyers Forum in Guangzhou, China. Dickey is a commercial litigation and intellectual property attorney with Sills Cummis in New Jersey and New York City.

Trent S. Dickey (Col ’77 L/M) published two articles in the PR Daily in China, United States Patent Disputes and The Asian LED Industry and Chinese Companies Asserting Patents in the United States. He practices commercial and IP litigation nationally with Sills Cummis & Gross and lives in New Jersey with his wife of 38 years, N. Janine Plauka Dickey (Col ’79 L/M). She is an attorney/business mediator. Owing to his IP legal work for both U.S. companies working with Chinese companies and directly with large Chinese entities, Mr. Dickey will speak at the World Lawyers Conference hosted by the All China Lawyer’s Association in Guangzhou on Dec. 10, 2019.

Trent Stevenson Dickey (Col ’77 L/M) is included in the 2010 edition of The Best Lawyers in America in his specialty of commercial litigation. Mr. Dickey was elected chairperson of the operations committee of Easter Seals New Jersey’s board of directors as well as its executive committee. Mr. Dickey was also elected to the board of Permanent and Advocacy Support Systems, Inc., a non-profit corporation providing professionally supported community residences for adult mental health consumers. Mr. Dickey is a member of the national law firm Sills Cummis & Gross P.C. with offices in New York City, Newark, N.J., and Princeton, N.J.

Trent Dickey (Col ’77 L/M) and Janine Plauka Dickey (Col ’79 L/M) both joined the newly reconstituted UVaClub of Northern New Jersey and serve on its board. Ms. Dickey is co-vice president and Mr.  Dickey coordinates activities with the Princeton and New York clubs. Mr. Dickey was also elected to the advisory board of World Impact Newark, a Christian mission organization helping the poor in America’s inner cities, particularly in Newark, N.J. Ms. Dickey is an attorney with her own firm in New Jersey, and Mr. Dickey is a litigation partner with the law firm of Sills Cummis &  Gross in its New York City and New Jersey offices.
