Nakita Reed

Nakita Reed (Arch ’06) and Ryan McEnroe (Arch ’09) have both been promoted to associate principal at Quinn Evans, an award-winning national design firm.

Reed’s past projects include the revitalization of Baltimore Penn Station. She is also the host of the Tangible Remnants podcast, which seeks to demystify the process of transforming historic buildings into thriving spaces that honor the past while serving the present. She is a member of the Association for Preservation Technology, a co-chair of the of the Zero Net Carbon Collaboration for Existing and Historic Buildings, and a past president of the Baltimore Architecture Foundation.

McEnroe has contributed to the design of the Bird House at the National Zoological Park and the National Native American Veterans Memorial at the National Museum of the American Indian, both in Washington, D.C., for the Smithsonian Institution. He was elevated to the American Institute of Architects’ College of Fellows in 2023, is a member of the National Architectural Accrediting Board and is a co-founder of AIA|DC’s Christopher Kelley Leadership Development Program.

Nakita Reed (Arch ’06) has been promoted to senior associate in Quinn Evans’ Baltimore office. Working at the intersection of historic preservation, sustainable design, and equity, she engages in transformative projects such as the redevelopment of the 800 block of Harlem and Edmondson in Baltimore, Maryland, and the restoration of Baltimore Penn Station. Reed currently serves as president of the Baltimore Architecture Foundation.

Nakita Reed (Arch ’06), an associate with Quinn Evans, has been selected as a member of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities Cultural Heritage Stewardship Initiative Advisory Committee. The new program, led by a partnership of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Ford Foundation, the J.M. Kaplan Fund, the JPB Foundation, and The Executive Leadership Council, will provide technical assistance and fund preservation-based stewardship plans at up to eight HBCU campuses across the country.

Nakita Reed (Arch ’06) joined the Baltimore office of Quinn Evans as an associate. An award-winning architect with experience throughout the Mid-Atlantic, Reed is skilled in the preservation, restoration, and adaptive use of historic buildings, with a focus on sustainable strategies in design and construction. Reed has served as an architect and sustainability consultant on numerous projects, and has been involved in design projects for private-sector clients as well as the U.S. General Services Administration, the Veterans Affairs Administration, the U.S. Navy, and public-sector agencies at the local level.
