James B. Pettit Jr. (Arch ’69) has recently left his position as senior associate with Penza Bailey Architects in Baltimore to devote time to watercolor painting and accessibility design consulting. He practiced architecture in Baltimore for 43 years. At Penza Bailey, Mr. Pettit conducted accessibility design audits for the Washington Hospital Center, Johns Hopkins Homewood campus, M&T Bank and numerous other clients. A former officer and board member of the American Institute of Architects Baltimore chapter, he remains active with the chapter’s historic resources committee. Mr. Pettit has led workshops on preservation and the Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility design standards.
