Kevin McCann

Kevin McCann (Col ’09) received the United States Marine Corps Commandant’s Trophy on Nov. 23, 2013, during the halftime ceremony at a University of Richmond football game at Robins Stadium in Richmond, Va. The trophy is awarded to officer candidates with the highest combined GPA for fitness, leadership and academics in the Platoon Leader’s Course, the equivalent of basic training for officers. During a 2010 deployment to Afghanistan with his Marine reserve unit, 2nd Lt. McCann received a Purple Heart Medal and Combat Action Ribbon. He was commissioned as a Marine Corps officer in summer 2013 and is currently a third-year law student at the University of Richmond.
