Daniel Mendelsohn (Col ’82) was inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences on Oct. 6, 2012. The American Academy, founded in 1780, is an independent research center that draws from its members’ expertise to conduct studies in science and technology policy, global security, the humanities and culture, social policy and education. Mr. Mendelsohn, an author and critic, is the Charles Ranlett Flint Professor of Humanities at Bard College. He is the author of seven books and has published numerous review essays in the New Yorker, the New York Times Magazine and Newsweek, among others.
