Julian Smith

Julian Smith (Col ’94 L/M) had a book, Crossing the Heart of Africa: An Odyssey of Love and Adventure, published by Harper Perennial on Dec. 7, 2010. Inspired by the story of British adventurer Ewart Grogan, who walked the length of Africa in 1898 to win the hand of the woman he loved, Mr. Smith faced down his own fears of making a lifetime commitment to his very patient fiancée by retracing Grogan’s 4,500-mile journey from South Africa to Sudan.
