Jen Soalt (Grad ’93, ’10) and co-author Andrea Avery published Let’s Discuss: Practices for Equitable Student Participation in ELA Classrooms with Teachers College Press in April. The book covers a wide range of research-informed practices teachers can use to make class discussions more engaging, inclusive and meaningful. Originally aimed at K-12 educators, the practices highlighted in the book are also applicable in other content areas, as well as with college students and adults. The book is part of the Visions of Practice series at Teachers College Press, edited by University of Massachusetts, Amherst, professor Sonia Nieto, and contains a forward by Nieto.
