Eric Kalkhurst (Col ’68 CM)
I have assisted in starting a business for sustainable grazing of cattle that restores the pastureland. It will be operating in the Southeastern States in numerous ranches. We hope to be operational by the forth quarter of this year.

Michael Reed (Grad ’79)
Michael D. Reed (Grad ’79) Joins Mette, Evans & Woodside as Shareholder
The law firm of Mette, Evans & Woodside is pleased to announce that Attorney Michael D. Reed has joined the practice. Mr. Reed has been practicing in the fields of construction law and litigation, as well as general commercial litigation and administrative and procurement law, for thirty-six years. He also has extensive experience in mediation and arbitration, both as an advocate and as a neutral. He is certified as a mediator in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania and has also completed the course work for mediator certification in the State Supreme Court of Virginia.
Carlotta Stankiewicz (Col ’87 CM)



Carlotta Eike Stankiewicz (Col ’87 L/M) has been appointed Director of Marketing and Communications for the Blanton Museum of Art at The University of Texas in Austin.
Ms. Stankiewicz is a writer and photographer who previously served as Creative Director at GSD&M Advertising in Austin, Texas. In 2016 she published Haiku Austin, a gift book of her own photography and irreverent haiku, via Haiku Empire Press. She is currently working on Haiku Hooville, a gift book about Charlottesville and UVA, which will be published in winter 2017–2018. Ms. Stankiewicz also serves on the Board of Directors of the Writers’ League of Texas, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting the craft, commerce and community of writing throughout the state.
As Director of Marketing, Ms. Stankiewicz will be responsible for promoting the many offerings of the Blanton, which holds the largest public collection in Central Texas with nearly 18,000 objects. The museum is recognized for its modern and contemporary American and Latin American art, Italian Renaissance and Baroque paintings, and encyclopedic collection of prints and drawings.
Cyndee Moore (Col ’85, Educ ’02 CM)
Cyndee Perdue Moore, Ed.D. (Col ’85, Educ ’02) has been appointed Executive Director of the University of North Georgia’s Oconee campus in Watkinsville, Georgia. Moore begins her appointment on May 1.
Brian Drummond (Col ’81 CM)
Brian Drummond (Col ’81 L/M) has been elected to the Virginia State Bar Council for the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit for a three year term commencing July 1, 2017.
Victoria Hough (Col ’83 CM)
Victoria Hough (Col ’83 L/M) is employed as an Administrative and Office Specialist, George Mason University, Fairfax, VA.
Melissa Hockstad (Engr ’96 CM)
Melissa Lisowski Hockstad (Engr ’96 L/M) has been named President and CEO of the American Cleaning Institute (ACI). ACI represents the producers of household, industrial, and institutional cleaning products and is dedicated to advancing public understanding of the safety and benefits of cleaning products. She lives with her husband Leif Hockstad (Engr ’96 L/M) in Washington, DC.

Cathryn Le Regulski (Col ’96)
Cathryn Le Regulski (Col ’96) has been promoted to partner in law firm DLA Piper’s Northern Virginia office, effective as of January 1, 2017.
Cathryn is a member of DLA Piper’s Employment practice, where she counsels management on employment law compliance issues, hiring and terminating employees, effective management of difficult employees, proprietary information and trade secret protection, workplace investigations, and developing and implementing personnel practices.

Shari Routch (Law ’91)
Shari Robbins Routch (Law ’91) has been appointed Interim Director of Admissions at Penn State Altoona. She continues to serve as Director of University Relations.

Dawn Ursula (Col ’90)
Dawn Ursula (Col ’90) will perform in the 2017–18 season at the Everyman Theatre in Baltimore. She has been cast in the roles of Esther in Intimate Apparel and Marianne Angelle in The Revolutionists. Ms. Ursula is an actress in the Washington, D.C. area. In 2016, she received a Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Play for her performance in Queens Girl in the World.

Neale Johnson (Law ’98)
Neale Johnson (Law ’98) has joined the legal project management team of the law firm Smith Moore Leatherwood. He works in the firm’s Greensboro, North Carolina office, where he leads the firm’s construction practice.
Michael Lang (Com ’94)
Michael “Mike” Lang (Com ’94) has joined BB&T as a residential construction specialist in the firm’s commercial real estate group. He is based in Richmond, Virginia.
Katherine Cook (Col ’86 CM)
Katherine Conner Cook (Col ’86 L/M) has joined the staff of the Cameron K. Gallagher Foundation in marketing and development in Richmond, VA. The nonprofit works to cultivate awareness and raise understanding of teen depression and anxiety, and was formed in 2014 after the sudden death of Cameron Gallagher, a 16 year old from Richmond, Virginia, and sister of rising 4th year student, D. Andrew Gallagher, II (Com ’18).
Andrew Cookingham (Col ’05 CM)
Andrew C. Cookingham (Col ’05) has been elected a partner in the law firm Thompson & Knight. He works in the firm’s Dallas office, where his practice focuses on managed care litigation and dispute resolution on behalf of hospitals, physician groups, and other healthcare providers.
Bradford Hammock (Col ’92 CM)

Bradford T. Hammock (Col ’92 L/M) has been named office managing principal at the Washington, D.C. regional office of the law firm Jackson Lewis. He focuses his practice on safety and health and is co-leader of the firm’s workplace safety and health practice group.

Wyatt Deal (Col ’03)
Wyatt A. Deal (Col ’03) has been promoted to partner at the law firm Hunton & Williams. He works in the firm’s Richmond, Virginia office, where he focuses his practice on private equity and venture capital.

Raymond Crosier (Col ’77 CM)
Raymond T. Crosier (Col ’77 L/M) has been appointed president and COO of financial services at Helios and Matheson Analytics, an information technology company that uses predictive analytics and data visualization. Mr. Crosier previously served as president and COO of Online Resources Corp., a financial technology provider.

Edward Mullen (Col ’99, Law ’08 CM)
Edward A. Mullen (Col ’99, Law ’08 L/M) was promoted to managing partner of the law firm Reed Smith’s Richmond, Virginia office. He joined the firm in 2008 and is a partner in the firm’s global regulatory enforcement group, with a practice focused on administrative, regulatory and government affairs law in Virginia. Mr. Mullen is also an adjunct professor at the University of Virginia School of Law, where he teaches a course on legislative drafting and statutory interpretation.
Brian Seal (Col ’91)
Brian S. Seal (Col ’91) has joined the law firm Butzel Long as a shareholder. He works in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, where his practice focuses on patent litigation and business disputes.

Hernando Herrera (Col ’89 CM)
After nearly 8 years as the Property Manager of Hillandale HOA in Georgetown, Hernando became the General Manager of the Carlyle Towers Condominium in Old Town Alexandria (a set of three high-rise buildings with recreational amenities and 24 staff members). In 2010, Hernando became a member of the Washington DC chapter of the Community Associations Institute (CAI), joined the Education and Legislative Action committees and earned three certifications—the most prominent being the Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) which required a multi-day on-site visit to another community and a rigorous masters-level evaluation of best-practices and recommendations for that community. (Less than 2,450 PCAMs exist in the U.S.) Hernando resides in Alexandria, VA with his wife, Marcela.
