Christopher Tulip (Col ’04 CM) and Tara C. Schaefer Tulip (Col ’08 L/M) welcomed a daughter, Abigail Christine, on May 29, 2012. Abigail joins big brother Samuel Christopher, age 2. The family resides in Anchorage, Alaska.

Leah McGrath (Col ’04 CM) received a doctorate in epidemiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She and her husband, Brian, welcomed a daughter, Marla Lynne, on August 13, 2012. The family resides in Durham, N.C.

Paul Gladden (Col ’04) received his doctorate in psychology from the University of Arizona in May 2011. He is currently an assistant professor of psychology at Macon State College.

Hyland Durant (Col ’04) married Laurence Coker in New Orleans in March 2012.
 

Frances Slatery (Col ’03 CM) received a master’s degree in theological studies from the Beeson Divinity School of Samford University in December 2011. She wed Jeremy R. Cowan on May 5, 2012. Both the pastor who performed the ceremony, the Rev. David A. Bowen (Col ’74) and the bride’s father, Herbert H. Slatery III (Col ’74 L/M), are U.Va. alumni. Sharon R. Palmer (Col ’03 L/M) was a bridesmaid and many dear friends from U.Va. attended the wedding. The Cowans currently reside in Knoxville, Tenn.

Steven Reinemund (Col ’03 CM) and Cristina Gonzalez de Mendoza (Com ’05 L/M) welcomed their first child, a daughter, Isabella Mendoza Reinemund, on Sept. 16, 2012. The family lives in the Uptown district of Minneapolis. They enjoy exploring the city, swimming in the lakes during the summer and traveling during the winter. Both Mr. Reinemund and Ms. Gonzalez de Mendoza work in sales for consumer packaged goods companies.

Lauren O’Connor (Col ’03) and Stephen O’Connor (Col ’01, Law ’06 L/M) welcomed their first child, Katharine Bailey O’Connor, on July 13, 2012.

Hanni Monroe (Col ’03 CM) and her husband, James, welcomed their first child, Hadley Jane, on Aug. 31, 2012. The family resides in Fulton, Md.

Marie Martin (Col ’03 CM) and her husband, Matt, welcomed their first son, Grayson Welbourn, on June 2, 2012. The Martins reside in Alexandria, Va.

Farrell Jaskot (Col ’03 CM) and David William Jaskot (Engr ’04 L/M) welcomed their first child, a son, Sutton Charles, on July 11, 2012. Sutton is the nephew of Erin Kitchen Jaskot (Col ’01 L/M), Kirk Grigsby Scifres (Col ’07), and Ashley Kautter Scifres (Educ ’07). The Jaskots reside in Charlottesville with their golden retriever, Lucy.

Erin Haglund (Col ’03 CM) and Erik Haglund (Engr ’04 L/M) welcomed their second child, Caleb Joseph, on Aug. 5, 2012. He joins a big brother, James Evan. The family resides in Richmond, Va.

Christopher Arnwine (Com ’03 CM) and his wife, Melinda, welcomed their second daughter, Adeline “Addie” Kelly, on June 14, 2012. Addie joins an older sister, Eleanor “Ellie” Jane, 2. The Arnwines live in Ashburn, Va.

Rebecca Stratton (Educ ’02) married William “Jason” Naramore (Engr ’06) on August 4, 2012, in the garden of Pavilion IX with a reception at The Boar’s Head Inn. The couple honeymooned in Italy and resides in Richmond, Va., where Ms. Stratton is a speech-language pathologist in home health care. Mr. Naramore is a biomedical engineer working in medical device research and development in Williamsburg, Va.

Page Moore (Col ’02) received a doctoral degree in psychology from the University of South Carolina in Aug. 2012. Upon graduation, she accepted a position as a postdoctoral fellow jointly through the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Developmental Pediatrics Clinic and the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities program. Ms. Moore and her husband, Richard Moore (Col ’02, Educ ’06 L/M), reside in Columbia, S.C., with their daughter, Grace.

Eric Giannini (Engr ’02 CM) received a doctorate in civil engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in Aug. 2012. He is now an assistant professor at the University of Alabama.

Erica Folk (Engr ’02 CM) and her husband, Michael, welcomed their first child, Adele Christine, on Jan. 3, 2012. The family lives in Baltimore .

Sidney Carpenter (Col ’02 CM) and Atima Omara-Alwala (Col ’03 L/M) were married on April 14, 2012, in Charlottesville. Ms. Omara-Alwala received a master’s degree in public administration from George Mason University in May 2012.
