Kevin Passerini (Col ’02)

Kevin Passerini (Col ’02) has been elected partner at Blank Rome, where he specializes in corporate litigation. He works in the firm’s Philadelphia office. Kevin and his wife, Megan, also welcomed a daughter, Reese Mary, on Oct. 16, 2015. The family lives in Wayne, Pennsylvania.
Susan Klobuchar (Col ’96 CM)
Susan Klobuchar (Col ’96 CM) has accepted a position as vice president of marketing with BreathableBaby, a maker of innovative baby products based in Minnetonka, Minnesota. She will lead consumer insights, brand building and marketing communications for the brand. She was previously a senior marketing manager with General Mills in Minneapolis. She lives in Minneapolis with her husband, Tim, and children Jack, 7, Lise, 4, and Cecily, 2.
Lynn Hughes (Law ’92 CM)
Lynn Hughes (Law ’92 CM) has been a judge for 36 years. He is in his 30th year on the bench of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Before that, he was a Texas district judge. Judge Hughes and his wife have three children, four grandsons and a passel of honorary family. He fills his free time with travel, books, the Council on Foreign Relations and unremunerative farming.
Frank McLaughlin (Col ’59)
Frank McLaughlin (Col ’59) has retired after more than 50 years of military and government service. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962 until 1983, retiring as a lieutenant colonel, having worked as an air weapons controller and as a computer scientist throughout the U.S. and in Germany and Vietnam. He worked as a contractor with Hughes Aircraft, Northrop Grumman and CACI from 1983 to 2012, supporting sales of U.S. military equipment to friendly foreign governments and traveling to more than 12 foreign nations. In 2015, following the passing of his wife, Karlene, he moved from San Diego to Thousand Oaks in the Los Angeles area to be nearer to his children and grandchildren.
Richard Wayland (Col ’83, Grad ’85 CM)

Richard Wayland (Col ’83, Grad ’85 CM) received the Presidential Rank Award of Meritorious Executive in December 2015 from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management for his work in the senior executive service at the Environmental Protection Agency. Mr. Wayland is the director of the Air Quality Assessment Division in the agency’s Office of Air and Radiation and was recognized for his efforts in leading the nation’s technical air quality management programs.
Margaret McEvoy (Col ’06)

Margaret McEvoy (Col ’06) and Gregory P. Proseus were married Sept. 26, 2015, at Aquia Church in Stafford, Virginia. Ms. McEvoy is an associate attorney at the law firm of Compton & Duling and Mr. Proseus is counsel to U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander on the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions. The couple lives in Prince William County, Virginia.
Ariella Hanker (Col ’04)

Ariella Hanker (Col ’04) and Lior Klirs (Col ’04) welcomed twins, son Natan Daniel and daughter Sarit Tova, on Nov. 13, 2015. Natan and Sarit join sister Yakira, 3. The family lives in Nashville, Tennessee, where Ms. Hanker is a research scientist at Vanderbilt University and Mr. Klirs works on implementing English and language arts curricula at Great Minds.
Lauda Harmon (Nurs ’04)

Lauda Harmon (Nurs ’04) and Jakob Harmon (Engr ’04, ’11 L/M) welcomed a son, Stephan Somerled, on Feb. 11, 2015. He joins brother Erik. In May 2015, the family relocated from Phoenix to Germantown, Maryland, where Mr. Harmon works for Comtech EF Data.
Patricia Leonard (Col ’88 CM)
Patricia Leonard (Col ’88 CM) has joined the law firm of Shutts & Bowen as a partner in its West Palm Beach, Florida, office. She focuses on business litigation, employment law, and pharmaceutical and nutraceutical litigation.
Catherine Donnellan (Col ’06 CM)
Catherine Donnellan (Col ’06 CM) and Kevin Sanders were married Nov. 14, 2015, in Memphis, Tennessee. The couple plans to settle in Memphis after Dr. Sanders completes her pediatric pulmonology fellowship in June 2016.
Jennifer Eaton (Com ’11 CM)
Jennifer Eaton (Com ’11 CM) is an associate attorney in the business department of Vandeventer Black in Norfolk, Virginia, where she advises clients regarding corporate and transactional matters. Before starting at the firm, she completed a one-year clerkship with the 4th Judicial Circuit of Virginia.
Dick Stanton (Com ’88 CM)
Dick Stanton (Com ’88 CM) has completed eight years of service on the board of directors of the Wissahickon School District in suburban Philadelphia. Mr. Stanton lives in Lower Gwynedd, Pennsylvania, with his wife, Bev, and their sons Danny, 11, and Michael, 9.
Robert Griffin (Col ’02 CM)
Robert Griffin (Col ’02 CM) and his wife, Claire, welcomed a son, Gordon Charles, on Dec. 18, 2015. Gordon is the grandson of Gordon Dix Griffin Jr. (Arch ’72 L/M). The family lives in Huntsville, Alabama.

Charles Frohman (Col ’93)
Charles Frohman (Col ’93) has been elected partner in the Minneapolis-based Maslon law firm. He is a member of the firm’s litigation group, handling business disputes and employment matters, including wage and hour, whistleblower and retaliation claims in state and federal courts. Mr. Frohman was named a “Rising Star” by Minnesota Super Lawyers in 2014 and 2015.
Jim Morelli (Engr ’91)

Jim Morelli (Engr ’91) has left his corporate engineering job to become a leadership coach and consultant and has written Techno Leader: The Handbook. He lives in Syracuse, New York, and on Vieques Island, Puerto Rico, with his wife, Linda Quinn.

Alexander Cutler (Col ’11)
Alexander Cutler (Col ’11) and McKenna T.B. Freese (Col ’12 L/M) were married at the UVA Chapel on July 11, 2015. Mr. Cutler-Freese is the son of John A. Cutler (Col ’75). The couple lives in New Haven, Connecticut.
Kennon Poteat (Com ’01 CM)
Kennon Poteat (Com ’01 CM) has been made partner at Williams & Connolly in Washington, D.C., where his practice focuses on complex civil and criminal litigation. He has litigated matters in federal and state courts across the country and arbitration panels here and abroad. Mr. Poteat lives in Washington, D.C., with his wife and children.

Stephen Thorson (Res ’83)
Stephen Thorson (Res ’83) has written Joy and Poetic Imagination: Understanding C.S. Lewis’s “Great War” with Owen Barfield and its Significance for Lewis’s Conversion and Writings (Winged Lion Press). The book explains a part of Lewis’ conversion to Christianity that is often misunderstood or ignored by Lewis scholars.

Amber Sappington (Com ’02 CM)
Amber Sappington (Com ’02 CM) and her husband, Jarrett, welcomed a daughter, Annie Anders, on June 25, 2015. The family lives in Atlanta, where Amber is a director of marketing at Equifax and Jarrett is an investment associate at Prudential Real Estate Investors.
Vincenzo Lucibello (Col ’02, Law ’05 CM)
Vincenzo Lucibello (Col ’02, Law ’05 CM) has been made a partner in the Boston office of Proskauer Rose. He focuses his practice on representing lenders in financing transactions.
