Lucas Hopkins (Engr ’08) and Sara Elizabeth Bryan Hutter (Com ’08, ’09 L/M) were married at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Lynchburg, Virginia, on June 6, 2015. The couple lives in Greensboro, North Carolina, where Ms. Hopkins is an audit manager with KPMG and Mr. Hopkins is a process engineer with Olympic Products.

Casey Chalk (Col ’07, Educ ’07) and his wife, Claire, welcomed a son, Thomas Peter, on Aug. 24, 2015. Thomas joins big sister Annemarie Frances, 2. The family lives in Bangkok.

Wes Petticrew (Com ’06) and Lizzie Ferreri Petticrew (Col ’07, Educ ’07 L/M) welcomed a daughter, Josephine Virginia, on Feb. 22, 2015. The family lives in Portland, Oregon.
Nicholas Joseph (Col ’06)
Nicholas Joseph (Col ’06) and Lillian Gumz were married on June 13, 2015, at St. Matthew’s Church in Bedford, New York. The couple lives in New York City, where Mr. Joseph is a senior analyst at Citi and Ms. Joseph is a school counselor at The Nightingale-Bamford School.

Bryan Antler (Com ’06) graduated from Gonzaga University School of Law in May 2015. He plans to start his own law firm in southern California, focusing on civil violations of mentally disabled people.

Austin Davis (Engr ’05) and Whitney Dever Davis (Col ’05 L/M) welcomed a son, Hudson Lee, on April 25, 2015. Hudson is the grandson of Donna Oraftik Dever (Educ ’75) and Martin J. Dever Jr. (Col ’73, Law ’77 L/M). The family lives in Arlington, Virginia.

Christopher Nichols (Grad ’02, Grad ’08)
Christopher Nichols (Grad ’02, Grad ’08) has been elected to life membership on the Council on Foreign Relations, an independent nonprofit that aims to help government, civic and religious leaders, business executives, educators and students better understand the world and foreign policy issues. Mr. Nichols is an assistant professor in the School of History, Philosophy, and Religion in Oregon State University’s College of Liberal Arts. He focuses his research and teaching on U.S. history and its relationship to the rest of the world, particularly in the areas of isolationism, internationalism and globalization.
David Thompson (Com ’01 CM)
David Thompson (Com ’01 CM) and Lauren MacIvor Thompson (Col ’03 L/M) welcomed a daughter, Margaret Adalie, on June 30, 2015. Adalie joins big sister Ginna Gail, 3. The family lives in Atlanta, where Mr. Thompson runs a solo law practice and Ms. Thompson is working toward her doctorate in history at Georgia State University.
Heather Bumgarner (Col ’01, Educ ’01 CM)
Heather Bumgarner (Col ’01, Educ ’01 CM) recently earned a doctorate in education with a focus on instructional leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Her dissertation focuses on understanding the National Board Certification process as professional development. She also concurrently earned postmaster’s certification in educational leadership. Ms. Bumgarner, a National Board Certified Teacher, lives in Richmond with her husband, Aaron; and daughter, Charlotte, 3.

Jeremy Ebrahim (Com ’00 CM) and Alexandra H. Ellen Ebrahim (Col ’00 L/M) welcomed a son, Carter Williamson, on Sept. 10, 2015. Carter joins big brothers Jameson and Preston. The family lives in New Providence, New Jersey.
Abraham Ahn (Arch ’00)
Abraham Ahn (Arch ’00) and his wife, Jean Park, welcomed a daughter, Julia Jean, on July 21, 2015. Julia is the niece of Grace Ahn (Col ’01) and Brian Bello (Col ’98). The family lives in Seoul, South Korea, where Mr. Ahn is a professor at Hanyang University.

Ben Aylor (Engr ’99 CM) and Erin Rupprecht Aylor (Col ’99 L/M) welcomed a son and a daughter on December 12, 2014. Penelope Christine and Spencer Franklin join big sister Gwendolyn Rupprecht, 2. The children are the grandchildren of Franklin Aylor (Col ’71 L/M) and niece and nephew, respectively, of Kendal Aylor Sibley (Com ’96, Law ’02 L/M), Trey Sibley (Law ’02), Cameron Ballinger Rupprecht (Col ’04 L/M) and Kurt Rupprecht (Col ’04 L/M). The Aylors live in Arlington, Virginia.

William Feagans (Col ’96 CM) and his wife, Katie, welcomed a daughter, Penelope Kyle, on Aug. 20, 2015. PK is the niece of Thomas M. Gresham (Col ’98 L/M) and joins big sisters Quinn, 7, and Betsy, 2; and big brother Wilder, 5. The family lives in Gordonsville, Virginia.
Daniel Curry (Arch ’96 CM)
Daniel Curry (Arch ’96 CM) has been promoted to principal at Quinn Evans Architects in Washington, D.C., where his work focuses on understanding shared community and cultural resources. Since joining Quinn Evans in 2010, he has helped shape the firm’s educational practice area by leading projects in 21st-century learning environments.
Anthony Cogswell (Col ’96 CM)
Anthony Cogswell (Col ’96 CM) is a wildlife educator at The Nature Company in Brooklyn, New York, and a graduate student in Miami University’s Global Field Program. He participated in Miami University’s Earth Expeditions summer 2015 global field course, studying the ecosystems, desert plants and diversity of life at the Bahía de los Ángeles UNESCO World Heritage site and the Sea of Cortez in Mexico.
Shanti Parikh (Com ’90 CM)
Shanti Parikh (Com ’90 CM) has published her second book, Regulating Romance: Youth Love Letters, Moral Anxiety, and Intervention in Uganda’s Time of AIDS with Vanderbilt University Press. The book draws on 10 years of ethnographic research, 250 interviews and more than 300 youth love letters to provide a window into young people’s heterosexual desires and practices in Uganda. Ms. Parikh is an associate professor of anthropology and African and African-American studies at Washington University in St. Louis.
