Lindsay Rosti (Arch ’06 CM) and Andrew Rosti (Col ’06 L/M) welcomed a daughter, London Mackenzie, on April 29, 2013. The family resides in Arlington, Va., where Mr. and Ms. Rosti both work in the Washington, D.C., metro area.
Megan Cave (Col ’00 CM)
Megan Cave (Col ’00 CM) and her husband, Robert “Payne” Cave Jr., welcomed a daughter, Grace Katherine, on June 7, 2013. The family resides in Charlotte, N.C., where Ms. Cave is a commercial insurance broker and Mr. Cave is an attorney.

Amber Sappington (Com ’02 CM)
Amber Sappington (Com ’02 CM) and Jarrett Sappington were married on May 18, 2013, in Virginia Beach. The couple resides in Atlanta, where Mrs. Sappington is a marketing analyst at UPS and Mr. Sappington is an investment analyst at Prudential Real Estate Investors.
Christina Thigpen (Col ’00 CM)

Christina Argeris Thigpen (Col ’00 L/M) and her husband, Mark, welcomed a son, Rhodes Bonner, on June 15, 2013. Rhodes is the grandson of Dana Argeris (Col ’71 L/M) and the nephew of Stephen Argeris (Col ’01 L/M), Elizabeth Argeris (Col ’04 L/M) and Meredith Argeris (Col ’04 L/M). The family resides in Charlotte, N.C.
Beau Horner (Col ’07 CM)

Beau Horner (Col ’07 CM) and Camille Donovan (Engr ’09) were married on May 21, 2013, in Puerto Morales, Mexico. The couple resides in Los Angeles, where Mr. Horner is a technical support specialist at Discovery Communications and Ms. Donovan is a process engineer at Amgen.
Laurie Lindsay (Col ’78 CM)
Laurie Lindsay (Col ’78 CM) is the human resources director for the Commodity Futures Trading Commission in Washington, D.C. Prior to joining the commission, she worked for 28 years at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, where she last served as the deputy chief human capital officer. Ms. Lindsay resides in Fairfax, Va., with her husband and their two sons.
William Hosp (Col ’72)
William Hosp (Col ’72) has been elected president of the Prince William Federation of Teachers. He will lead Prince William County, Va.’s Local 2402 of the American Federation of Teachers, an AFL-CIO affiliate.

Brett Abner (Col ’05)
Brett Abner (Col ’05) and Kristin Smith Abner (Col ’05 L/M) welcomed their first child, a daughter, Charlotte Marie, on June 16, 2013. The family resides in Chicago, where Ms. Abner is a doctoral candidate in sociology at the University of Illinois at Chicago and Mr. Abner is a senior manager of marketing analytics at Groupon.

Will Mueller (Com ’00 CM)
Will Mueller (Com ’00 CM) and Ramona Layne were married on Oct. 13, 2012, in Fort Belvoir, Va. The couple resides in Norfolk, Va., where Lt. Cmdr. Will Mueller is stationed at the U.S. Navy’s Expeditionary Combat Readiness Center at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story.
Brandi Sharp (Col ’08, Grad ’13 CM)
Brandi Sharp (Col ’08, Grad ’13 CM) received a Ph.D. in biology from the University. Her doctoral research focused on circadian transcriptional regulation in the fruit fly. She currently works as a research technician at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s Janelia Farm Research Campus.
Jennifer Walkowski (Arch ’08)
Jennifer Walkowski (Arch ’08) recently accepted a position as a Survey and National Register Unit program analyst at the New York State Historic Preservation Office at Peebles Island, located outside of Albany, N.Y. Previously, Ms. Walkowski worked as an architectural historian at Clinton Brown Company Architecture in Buffalo, N.Y.
Katie Cooper (Nurs ’00 CM)

Katie Cooper (Nurs ’00 CM) and Carlos Cooper (Col ’99 L/M) welcomed a son, Deacon Erik, on May 3, 2013. Deacon joins big sister Juliet Elizabeth, 5, and big brother Beckett Andrew, 4. The children are the niece and nephews of Daniel Cooper (Col ’07 L/M), Katherine Krueger Cooper (Educ ’07 L/M) and Andrew Cooper (Col ’09 L/M). The family resides in Franklin, Tenn., where Ms. Cooper is a nurse anesthetist for Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Mr. Cooper is a writer whose titles include Benjamin Dragon—Awakening, the first book in The Chronicles of Benjamin Dragon series, and The Corps Justice series.

Ashley Lemons (Engr ’01 CM) and her husband, Matt, welcomed a daughter, Caroline Grace, on June 8, 2013. Caroline joins big sister Charlotte Elyse, 2. The family resides in Ridgecrest, Calif.

Christopher Karvetski (Col ’05, Engr ’11 CM) and Colleen Hughes Karvetski (Engr ’11) welcomed their first child, a daughter, Virginia Louise, on April 24, 2013. Mr. Karvetski is an assistant vice president, qualitative finance analyst at Bank of America in Charlotte, N.C.

Joel Rubin (Col ’75 CM)
Joel Rubin (Col ’75 CM) has been named the Public Relations Practitioner of the Year for 2013 by the Hampton Roads chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. Mr. Rubin is president of Rubin Communications Group, a public relations, marketing and video production firm based in Virginia Beach. He lives in Hampton Roads, Va., with his wife, Sara Jo. Their two children, Daniel Rubin (Col ’06 L/M) and Molly Rubin Nizhnikov (Col ’09 L/M), are also Wahoos.
