“Birth” Class Notes

Danielle Childress MacRae (Col ’16, Batten ’17 CM) and James MacRae (Engr ’14 CM) welcomed a daughter, Ivy Katharine MacRae, Feb. 6, 2023. Ivy is the couple’s first child and named after the Ivy area in Charlottesville. The family lives in Los Angeles.

Carolina Ferrerosa Young (Col ’09 CM) and Daniel T. Young (Col ’07 CM) welcomed their second child, Gabriel Miguel, on Jan. 22nd, 2023. Ms. Young is economic policy adviser to U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown in Washington, D.C., and Mr. Young is an appellate counsel in the Office of the General Counsel for the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C. The family lives in Reston, Virginia. 

Jeremy Ebrahim (Com ’00 CM) and Alexandra Hume Ellen Ebrahim (Col ’00 CM) welcomed a son, Westley Tucker Hume Ebrahim, on October 24, 2022. Westley joins big brothers Jameson, Preston, and Carter. The family lives in Chatham, New Jersey.

Allison Raymond (Nurs ’11 CM) and Michael Raymond (Grad ’22) welcomed their son, Luke Christopher, on March 3, 2023. The couple lives in Boston.

Nerissa Neal Rouzer (Col ’06 CM) and Garett Michael Rouzer (Arch ’05 CM) welcomed their second son, Owen Alexander, on December 13, 2021. The family lives in Charlottesville.

William “Billy” Skrobacz (Col ’13, Educ ’14, Darden ’21 CM) and Emily D. Skrobacz (Educ ’15 CM) welcomed Charlotte Anne “Lottie” Skrobacz to the world Feb. 8, 2023. 

Sarah (Rose) Carlin (Engr ’05, Com ’13) and her husband, Matt, welcomed their first child, Nathan Edward, on March 12, 2022. The family lives in Northern Virginia where Sarah is an IT strategist for Booz Allen Hamilton and Matt is a sales engineering manager for Splunk. 

Christopher Winter (Col ’07 CM) and Megan Van Syckle Winter (Com ’09 CM) welcomed a son, Brooks Christopher, on August 18, 2022. The family, including proud sister Caroline, lives in Charlottesville.

Casey Chalk (Col ’07, Educ ’07) and his wife, Claire, welcomed a son, Daniel Edmund, on Aug. 3, 2020. He joins siblings Annemarie, 9; Thomas, 7; Elizabeth, 5, and Lawrence, 2. 

Jordan Brown (Com ’04) and husband Greg welcomed their first daughter, Easton Campbell Brown, on July 26th, 2022. Easton is well-loved by brothers Bruce (10) and Bode (2). The family lives in Newport Beach, California. 

Amy Shroyer Lightbourn (Col ’12 CM) and James Lightbourn (Col ’12 CM) welcomed their daughter, Linnea, on July 5th, 2022. She joins big brother Landon and dog Bernie at home in East Norwalk, Connecticut.

Marc Heisel (Engr ’07) and Brianne (King) Heisel (Engr ’13 CM) welcomed a son, Aiden, in May 2021. The family lives in Charlottesville where Marc is an engineering and quality manager, and Brianne is a senior program manager.

Shannon (Casey) Donohue (Arch ’12 CM) and husband Kevin Donohue welcomed their first child, Madeline Grace, on Mar. 15, 2022. The couple resides in Alexandria, Virginia, where Shannon works in fundraising at George Mason University and Kevin is in cybersecurity with Amazon Web Services. They are excited to show their daughter around Charlottesville and the UVA campus this fall.

Sharon Kressel (Col ’05, Med ’12 CM) and her husband Jason welcomed their daughter Nora Irene in October 2021. Nora joins her older brothers, Aaron and Max. The family resides in Bethesda, Maryland.

Kevin M. Passerini (Col ’02 CM) and his wife Megan welcomed a son, Tate Millar, on Oct. 21, 2021. Tate joins big sisters Reese Mary and Maeve Alice and big brother Grant Michael. The family lives in Wayne, Pennsylvania, where Kevin is a partner with Blank Rome and Megan is an Executive Director at Health Union.

Robin Short Verstraete (Col ’05 CM) and her husband, Aaron, welcomed their second child, Holden Robert, on Feb. 1, 2022. He joins big brother Graham, age 3. The family lives in New Albany, Ohio, where Ms. Verstraete is a Vice President of Merchandising for Bath and Body Works and Mr. Verstraete is the head of strategy and partnerships for tech start-up UnitQ.
