Ken Treadway (Col ’91 CM)

Ken Treadway (Col ’91 CM) was recently named executive director of customer success at Ungerboeck Software International in St. Louis, where he has worked for more than a decade. His new duties include managing all facets of customer-facing activities for the global software company on six continents. Mr. Treadway lives in Lake Saint Louis, Mo., with his wife, Beth, and their three children: Ally, 14; Emmy, 12; and Reed, 7.

Kristi Farouki (Col ’00, Educ ’01) and Karim Farouki (Engr ’02) welcomed a daughter, Maya Siena, on July 4, 2014. Maya joins big sister Serene, 4, and big brother Samy, 6, and is the niece of Jeremy Rayburn (Com ’03 L/M). The Faroukis reside in Leesburg, Va.

Allison Griswold Wessner (Col ’06 L/M) and her husband, Matthew, welcomed a daughter, Madeleine Rae, on July 28, 2014. Madeleine is the niece of Ryan P. Griswold (Engr ’02 L/M). The family resides in Portsmouth, Va., where both new parents are physicians in the U.S. Navy.

Allie Pesch (Col ’05) and Arthur J. “A.J.” Pesch (Col ’06, Med ’13) welcomed a daughter, Lottie Beatrice, on Aug. 22, 2014. Lottie joins big brother Leo Marshall, 4, and big sister Louisa Ruby, 6. The family resides in Crozet, Va., where Ms. Pesch is a freelance graphic designer and Dr. Pesch is a radiology resident at UVA Hospital.

Candice MacCutcheon Kessler (Nurs ’07) completed her MSN at UNC Chapel Hill in May 2013 and is working as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner at Rankin OBGYN in Charlotte, NC. She and her husband Mike welcomed their son, Kellen Patrick, on August 28, 2014.

While at Harvard, Mr. Meissner worked in admissions at Harvard Divinity School and assisted with several research projects. He currently resides in Cambridge, Mass.

Joseph Duty (Engr ’10 CM) and Kelly Kathleen Ebert (Col ’11 L/M) were married at the University of Virginia Chapel on March 22, 2014. Mr. Duty is the son of James Duty (Com ’79 L/M) and Rebecca Coble Duty (Educ ’79 L/M), and Ms. Ebert is the daughter of Mark Ebert (Col ’75 L/M) and Cynthia Cleer Ebert (Col ’76 L/M). The couple resides in Fairfax, Va., where Mr. Duty is an IT consultant with Catapult Systems and Ms. Ebert is a contract specialist for the federal government.

Zachary Shapiro (Engr ’09 CM) and Susan Jane Grayden Bowden (Col ’10 L/M) were married on May 24, 2014, in Asheville, N.C. The couple resides in Raleigh, N.C., where Ms. Shapiro is a combined veterinary/Ph.D. student at North Carolina State University and Mr. Shapiro is an M.B.A. student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Andrew Durfor (Grad ’09)

Andrew Durfor (Grad ’09) is a chemist for the Office of Compliance in the Center for Devices and Radiological Health at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. He recently began his one-year Mike Mansfield Fellowship in Ishikawa prefecture in Japan, where he will participate in a homestay and intensive language training before working for 10 months in a Japanese government agency or ministry in Tokyo. During his practical training, Mr. Durfor will seek to gain insight into the pressures and priorities that influence medical device regulation in Japan with attention to the risk management elements used for foreign manufacturers.
