“Wedding” Class Notes
Frances Wall (Col ’14)
Frances Sarrett (COL ’14 CM) and Michael Wall (COL ’12 CM) were married on November 6, 2021 in Mobile, Alabama surrounded by friends and fellow ’Hoos. Frances is the daughter of Kemper Sarrett III (Col ’82 CM) and Bowden Overbey Sarrett (Col ’82 CM), and the granddaughter of Kemper Sarrett Jr. (Col ’52 CM). The couple lives in Richmond, Virginia.
Cristina Foran (Col ’10)
Cristina Liebolt (Col ’10 CM) married fellow Wahoo Lincoln Foran (Col ’10 CM) on Sept. 5, 2021, at St. Paul’s Memorial Church in Charlottesville, Virginia, with a reception following at Farmington Country Club. Also in attendance were matron of honor Freyan Soonawalla (Col ’10, Darden ’19) and husband Rohan Bakshi (Col ’10); bridesmaids Ashley Craddock (Res ’23) and Margaret Kelly (Law ’15); and groomsman Tyler Duke (Col ’10 CM). Cristina and Lincoln first met at UVA, but they reconnected in New York City after running into one another at the William and Wall Street subway station. They now live in the Tenleytown neighborhood of Washington, D.C. with their black lab Rugby.
Richard Willetts (Educ ’06)
Neal Willetts (Educ ’06) is delighted to announce his engagement to Elijah Thomas Lee Akers, an IT Specialist in the US Navy currently serving on the USS George Washington. The couple met in February 2020 when Neal was bartending an event for Eli’s ship, and as people say, the rest is history! They are tentatively planning a spring 2023 wedding. As Eli will have just gotten out of the Navy, the couple plans to reside in Eli’s native Columbus, Ohio after the wedding. The couple have three cats: Augustus, Sulla and Pip.
Bryan Thomas (Col ’10)
Bryan Thomas (COL ’10 CM) married his college sweetheart, Lisa Hamilton (COL ’11, EDUC ’11 CM), on Juneteenth, June 19, 2021. The couple wed in Washington, D.C. surrounded by family and fellow ‘Hoos.
Benjamin Rubenstein (Col ’07)
Benjamin Rubenstein (Col ’07) married Stefanie Cohen, a University of Maryland alumna, on Nov. 7, 2021. Though he happily moved to Maryland to live with her, he was pleased they wedded in The Better State.
Lindsay Vaught (Com ’01)
Lindsay Vaught (COM ’01 CM) married Taka Wakino in August 2021 at the Japanese Friendship Garden in San Diego, California. Jeff Ludden (ENGR ’00 CM) officiated the ceremony, with Laura Wright (COL ’01 CM) acting as matron of honor. The couple lives in San Diego, California.
Rebecca Clemo (Engr ’13)
Amanda Bradley (Col ’14, Educ ’14 CM) and Momin Khan (Engr ’13) were married in Vienna, Va. on September 25, 2021. Their reception was held at the home of Amanda’s parents, Maria Sevilla (Col ’81 CM) and Stephen Bradley. Rebecca Clemo (Engr ’13, Res ’21 CM) served as matron of honor. Amanda is the niece of Eduardo Sevilla (Eng ’85 CM). Also in attendance were Kelly Wagner (Eng ’13 CM), Ida Yonas (Col ’13 CM), Madeleine Hambletom (Col ’13), Merrick Kozak (Col ’12, Res ’21 CM), Jeff Hall (Col ’13 CM), Joseph Featherston (Col ’13 CM), John Lunsford (Engr ’13 CM), Steven Cook (Engr ’14 CM), Virginia Cook (Engr ’13), Daniel Eustace (Col ’13 CM), and Annie Clemo (Col ’17 CM). The couple lives in Richmond, where Momin is a programmer and Amanda is a teacher.
Oriana Dougherty (Col ’15)
Oriana Dougherty (Col ’15 CM) and Michael Dougherty (Col ’15, Med ’20 CM) celebrated their marriage in their home state of Kentucky on June 18, 2021 with several fellow UVA grads present. They reside in Portland, OR where Oriana works in cloud technology and Michael is an otolaryngology resident.
Kathryn Wilderotter (Col ’96)
Kathryn Wilderotter (COL ’96 CM) married the wonderful, beautiful and talented Mara Bayewitz in May in a small ceremony held at a friend’s home. While they were able to wait long enough for their loved ones to be vaccinated against COVID-19, they had absolutely no desire to wait one moment longer. Both women are mental health therapists practicing in Maryland and were overjoyed to be able to hug their family members in person and share this moment with them.

Brett Herbert (Col ’10) married Mallory Taylor Brennan on July 24, 2021.
Emily Echols (Col ’11)
Emily Echols (Col ’11 CM) and Robert DiCostanzo (Com ’12 CM) were married at King Family Vineyards in Crozet, Virginia, on July 10, 2021, surrounded by friends and family. The couple lives in New York City.
Danielle Childress (Batten ’17, Col ’16 CM)
Danielle Childress MacRae (Col ’16, Batten ’17 CM) and James MacRae (Engr ’14 CM) were married at James Monroe’s Highland in Charlottesville on June 12, 2021. The couple was grateful to return to Virginia for their wedding after a recent cross-country move to Los Angeles.
Rachel Agee (Nurs ’19 CM)
Derrick Agee (Col ’14) and Rachel Bryant Agee (Nurs ’19 CM) celebrated their one year wedding anniversary!
Ben Mackovak (Darden ’07 CM)
Ben Mackovak (Darden ’07 CM) married to Catherine Banton on the shores of Lake Erie in September 2019. The couple celebrated with a wide cast of characters from the UVA classes of 2002, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010, who partied under the stars on a perfect summer night. The couple lives in Bratenahl, Ohio.
Courtney Hamlett (Col ’12 CM)
Courtney Jones (Col ’12) married Christian Hamlett on Sept. 11, 2020 in Richmond, Virginia. The couple lives in Richmond, where Courtney is the manager of championships and events for the Virginia State Golf Association and Christian is a consultant with Employee Benefits of Virginia.
Andrew Buie-Moltz (Col ’08 CM)
David Moltz (Col ’08) and Campbell Buie (Grad ’10) married on Sept. 26, 2020, in a small, outdoor ceremony at Wisdom Oak Winery in North Garden, Virginia. Both are changing their last names to Buie-Moltz. Campbell is certification program manager at Teachstone, Inc. and, as of Nov. 1, 2020, David is director of strategic communications at UVA Health. Previously, he was communications manager for UVA’s Office of the President.
Christopher Murphy (Col ’85 CM)
Sean Murphy (Col ’85 CM) and Laura Frederick (Col ’87 CM) were married on Oct. 4, 2020, in New Braunfels, Texas, and are preparing to relocate from their home in Austin to Winchester, Virginia.
Zachary Bessette (Col ’14)
Zach Bessette (Col ’14) married Ariana Mollers on Oct. 18, 2020. Zach and Ariana, a Virginia Tech alumna, have put aside a college rivalry to build a life together. They live in Newport, Rhode Island, where Zach is an officer in the U.S. Navy.
Kimberly Sine (Col ’10 CM)
Kimberly Sine (Col ’10 CM) married Anthony Jamison at a beautiful outdoor ceremony in Alexandria, Virginia, on Oct. 24, 2020, surrounded by their immediate family. The couple lives in Washington, D.C.
Alexandra Smyre (Col ’14)
Alexandra Smyre (Col ’14) and Robert H. Roane (Com ’14 CM) married on Oct. 10, 2020 in front of friends and family, including the groom’s father, Robert C. Roane (Com ’78 CM), and sister, Caroline Roane (Col ’10 CM). The couple lives in Arlington, Virginia.
