James Riley Sagar (Col ’03) and Kristen Patton Sagar (Col ’02/Grad ’03) welcomed their second daughter, Charlotte Lee, on July 16, 2012. Charlotte joins big sister Elizabeth Anne (“Ella”), 3. The Sagars live in Savannah, Georgia, where Dr. Sagar is a radiology resident at Memorial Hospital and Mrs. Sagar works as an attorney/telecommuter while staying at home with their daughters.

Corbin Campbell (Col ’03) received a doctorate in educational policy from the higher education program at the University of Maryland in May 2012. She is now a tenure-track professor of higher education at Teachers College, Columbia University, in New York City.

John Hakim (Col ’88 CM) earned his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University in 1993 and has been practicing cardiology for 15 years. For the past eight years, Dr. Hakim has practiced in Maryland’s Prince George’s and Calvert Counties.

David Christiansen (Col ’90 CM)

David Christiansen (Col ’90 CM) is the chief credit officer of National Cooperative Bank and a member of the bank’s executive management team. He is responsible for setting loan policy, managing the credit and loan closing departments and providing credit oversight to all areas of NCB. Additionally, he handles the management of all credit concentrations and regulatory audit requirements. Prior to his role at NCB, Mr. Christiansen worked as a director at Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank in New York City and as a vice president at JP Morgan Chase, also in New York. Mr. Christiansen previously worked at NCB from 1998 to 2000 as an assistant vice president responsible for national business development and credit management for NCB’s commercial real estate portfolio.

Scott Barton (Grad ’12)

Scott Barton (Grad ’12) is an assistant professor of music in the department of humanities and art at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Mass. He is a composer, musician, producer, programmer and instrument builder who conducts research in music technology and perception. His research interests include electroacoustic composition, music cognition and auditory perception, musical robotics and artificial musical intelligence.

Ms. Fordyce is an attorney for the Social Security Administration in Charlottesville and Mr. Fordyce is a deputy sheriff in Culpeper County, Va. The couple and Mr. Fordyce’s daughter, Haylynn, 11, reside in Madison County, Va.

Andrew Abela (Darden ’03) has been appointed dean of the newly created School of Business and Economics at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. Mr. Abela is an expert on the integrity of the marketing process, including marketing ethics, Catholic social doctrine and internal communications. He has written two books, published articles in several academic journals and is co-editor of A Catechism for Business: Tough Ethical Questions and Insights from Catholic Teaching, forthcoming from Catholic University of America Press.

Kevin Passerini (Col ’02) has been elected to the board of councilors of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania. In addition to this new role, he will continue to serve as chair of the recently formed Young Friends of HSP, which provides outreach to attract younger members of the local community and raises funds to preserve and catalogue collections. Mr. Passerini is an attorney in the corporate litigation group in the Philadelphia office of Blank Rome. He also regularly provides pro bono legal services, earning him an honor from the Louisiana Supreme Court for pro bono legal services he provided in the aftermath of hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

Jodi Elliott (Col ’02 CM) and her husband, James Watson, welcomed their first son, August Elliott Macrae Watson, on Nov. 28, 2012. The family lives in Princeton, N.J., where Mr. Watson is a postdoctoral research fellow and Ms. Elliott is taking time to be a mom before figuring out what’s next.
