“Birth” Class Notes

Andrew Marshaleck (Com ’10) and his wife Kristin Clarke Marshaleck (Com ’09), welcomed their second son, Tanner Blake, on Oct. 25, 2015. The family lives in Fort Mill, South Carolina.

Hugh Magen (Engr ’90 L/M) and his wife, Betsy, welcomed their daughter Estelle Ruthe Magen on Nov. 17, 2017. Estelle joins her older brother Jack, 4. The family lives in the San Francisco bay area, where he is the vice president for research and development for startup medical device manufacturer AEGEA Medical, and she is a veterinarian.

Brian Wohlert (Col ’05 L/M) and Jamie Todd Wohlert (Com ’05 L/M) welcomed their first child, Carter Todd Wohlert, on June 4, 2018. The family lives in Loudoun, Virginia.

Sarah Powell Russell (Engr ’12) and Matt Russell (Engr ’12) welcomed their daughter, Mercer Marie, on April 13, 2018. The family currently lives in Charlotte, North Carolina, where Mr. Russell is a product strategist for a technical consulting firm and Ms. Russell is a program manager for a mobile start up. 

Greta Slotniss Cameron (Engr ’12 L/M) and Charlie Cameron (Engr ’11 L/M) welcomed their first child, Riley Jean, on Aug. 16, 2017. The family lives in Dayton, Ohio, where both Mr. and Ms. Cameron are active duty Air Force officers.  

Catherine Donnellan Sanders (Col ’06 L/M) and her husband, Kevin, welcomed their first child, George Donnellan Sanders, on April 10, 2018. The family resides in Memphis, Tennessee, where Sanders is a pediatric pulmonologist.

Michelle S. Beverly (Col ’00) and her husband, Christopher T. Beverly (Col ’00) welcome their second child, a daughter, on Jan. 21, 2018. Leyla Rainn Beverly joins her older brother, Xavier, age 10. Leyla is also the niece of Kevin Beverly (Col ’06).  The family lives in Waynesboro, Virginia. 

Marissa Heigle Moore (Col ’07) and Jerome Moore (Engr ’07) welcomed a third son on March 12, 2018. Donovan Joseph Moore joins brothers Ashton, age 4, and Aidan, age 2. The family lives in Dallas, Texas

Matt Coleman (Col ’03, Darden ’11 L/M) and his wife, Christine, had their first child, Alessia Raquel, on Nov. 8, 2017. The family lives in Bermuda, where Mr. Coleman is a director at investment manager Nephila Climate, and Ms. Coleman is the executive director of Sol Sisters, Inc.

Corrine Tye Lamberson (Col ’10) and J. Pierce Lamberson (Col ’10) welcomed their first child, J. Pierce Lamberson Jr., on Dec. 18, 2017. The family lives in St. Louis, Missouri, where Ms. Lamberson is an active duty Air Force officer and Mr. Lamberson is a student at Washington University School of Law.

Laura Brogan Tabellion and her husband, Yvan, welcomed their first child, Margaux Camille, on Oct. 1, 2017. The family lives in Seattle, Washington, where Ms. Tabellion is a health policy consultant for Navigant, and Mr. Tabellion is a teacher at the French Immersion School of Washington. 

Brandon Smit (Com ’04, Darden ’11 L/M) and his wife, Julia, welcomed their third child, Isla Rose, on Oct. 27, 2017. She joins brothers Aidan, age 5, and Luke, age 2. The family lives in Seattle, Washington. 

Austin Davis (Engr ’05) and Whitney Dever Davis (Col ’05 L/M) welcomed their second son, Cooper Joseph, on Aug. 15, 2017. He joins big brother Hudson, age 2. Cooper is the grandson of Martin J. Dever Jr. (Col ’73, Law ’77 L/M) and Donna Oraftik Dever (Educ ’75). The family lives in Arlington, Virginia. 

Amanda MacArthur Scopelliti (Engr ’06 L/M) and her husband, Frank, welcomed a son, Joseph Peter, on Oct. 25, 2017. He joins big sister Ava Rose, age 3. Joseph is the grandson of Duncan MacArthur (Engr ’65 L/M). The family resides in Thornwood, New York.

Catina Newsome Hadijski (Col ’00 L/M) and her husband, George, welcomed their second and third children on Sept. 18, 2017. Twins Madeline Elizabeth and Alexander James join proud sister Caroline, age 3. The family lives in Burke, Virginia. 

Brennan (Col ’05, Curry ’12) and Sarah Elizabeth Schmidt (Col ’09, Grad ’12) welcomed their second child on May 20, 2017. Robert “Bennett” Schmidt joins proud sister Pippa, age 2, and pup Brody. The family resides in Richmond, Virginia. 

Alex Haddock (Com ’09, Darden ’16) and his wife, Alicia, welcomed their first child, Lily Elizabeth, on Aug. 20, 2017. The family resides in New York, where Mr. Haddock works for Goldman Sachs.

Stacy Adams Londrey (Col ’05 L/M) and her husband, David, welcomed a son, John David, on May 21, 2017. He joins doting twin sisters, Rebecca and Hannah, age 4. The family resides in Madison, Virginia.

Mark Witzel (Col ’92 L/M) retired from the U.S. Air Force as a colonel on Sept. 1, 2017, after 23 years of active duty service, just before welcoming his fourth child, Hazel Rose, on Sept. 5. That same month, he began a new career as a high school social studies teacher at Langley High School in McLean, Virginia.

Kevin M. Passerini (Col ’02 L/M) and his wife Megan welcomed their daughter, Maeve Alice, on July 26, 2017. Maeve joins big sister Reese, age two. The family resides in Wayne, Pennsylvania, where Mr. Passerini is a partner with Blank Rome and Ms. Passerini is in business development for Audience Partners (Altice USA).

Shawn Pennetti (Col ’08) and her husband, Cody Pennetti (Engr ’07), welcomed their first child, Luca, on May 29, 2017. Shawn and her family recently moved to Charlottesville and are looking forward to raising a future ’Hoo. 

Louis Fierro II (Col ’01 L/M) and Maura McEwan Fierro (Engr ’08, ’10 L/M) welcomed a daughter, Cecilia Clare, on July 28, 2017. Cecilia, brother Anthony, and sister Anne are the grandchildren of Anthony Fierro (Col ’73, Med ’76 L/M). The family resides in Richmond, Virginia.

Pamela Galloway Ford (Curry ’05) and her husband, Thomas, welcomed their first son, Tyson Kendall, on April 13, 2017. The family lives in Centennial, Colorado. 

Jo Koontz Cronly (Col ’04) and her husband, John, welcomed their second child, John Hampden Hill, on June 10, 2017. Hill joins sister Cecelia, 2. The family resides in Richmond, Virginia, where Dr. Cronly is a pediatric dentist and partner at Children’s Dentistry of Virginia.

Jeanna Grimes Ogbar (Col ’02) and her husband Jeffrey Ogbar, welcomed their first child, Jeffrey Asa Grimes Ogbar, on July 21, 2017.

Krystal Freeman Clemons (Col ’05 L/M) and her husband Hiawatha welcomed a baby girl, Eva Rose Clemons, on May 18, 2017. The couple lives in Charlottesville where Krystal is a program specialist in the Office for Diversity and Equity at the University of Virginia.

Alexandra Vuxton Guest (Col ’09 L/M) and Brad Guest (Com ’10 L/M) welcomed a baby girl, Rosemary Carolyn Guest, on May 5, 2017. Rosemary joins big sister Everly Cynthia. The couple lives in Northern Virginia where Brad is an attorney at Latham and Watkins in Washington D.C. 

Jennifer Schwenk (Col ’09 L/M) and Colin Bertram (Col ’09) welcomed their first child, Derek James, on March 30, 2017.

Melissa Ann Cunningham Goduti (Col ’04 L/M) and Daniel John Goduti (Col ’05 L/M) were elated to welcome their daughter, Clara Elizabeth, on May 3, 2017. She is adored by her two-year-old big sister, Eleanor Ann, and her yellow lab, Cabot. The Goduti family resides in Havertown, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia, where Mr. Goduti teaches science at The Haverford School.

Kristopher Conner (Arch ’01 L/M) and Heather Waters (Arch ’01 L/M) are happy to announce the birth of their daughter, Avlyn Farah Conner, on April 24, 2017.  Mother and baby are both healthy and we look forward to bringing her back to Charlottesville one day so she can see where her parents met and fell in love!

On January 25, 2017, Martha and her husband James welcomed their son, Alexander James Zink. Alex joins big sister Sophia, who turns 3 at the end of May. The family resides in the suburbs of Houston, Texas, where Martha works as an Technical Project Lead, developing in FileMaker Pro, and James works as a Supply Chain Manager for a petrochemical company.

On May 21, 2017, Chris and her husband Doug joyfully welcomed a son, Everett Glenn Middlebrooks.  After working as an associate and then being elected to partnership at McGuireWoods LLP in Richmond for 12 years, Chris recently took an emeritus role at the firm.  The family resides north of Ashland, Virginia. 

Josh Hawley-Molloy (Med ’99) and Johnathon Hawley-Molloy welcomed a son, Kaelen William Hawley-Molloy, on November 4, 2016. We welcome visitors in San Antonio, Texas.

Caitlan Smith Wilber (Col ’07 L/M) and Michael Wilber (Col ’09) welcomed a daughter, Arden Adela, on April 14, 2017. The family lives in Baltimore, where Michael is a resident physician at the University of Maryland.

Monique Alvino Jennings (Com ’01 L/M) and her husband, Steve, welcomed a daughter, Emerson Marie Jennings, on March 15, 2017. Emerson joins big brothers, Miles, 4, and Charlie, 2. The family resides in Bentonville, AR, where Monique is a Director of Customer Management for PepsiCo.

My wife (Claire A. Chalk) and I welcomed our third child, Elizabeth Faustina Chalk, into the world on 21 February, 2017. Elizabeth (“Lily”) joins older sister Annemarie Frances (4) and Thomas Peter (1.5). We live in Bangkok, Thailand.

Colleen Colby Allen (Col ’02) and Colin Allen (Col ’03) welcomed a son, Cabell William, on July 11, 2016. Cabell is little brother to Margaret and Eleanor, and is the granddaughter of Conway Allen (Com ’74), the niece of Sherrie Colby (Educ ’06), and the cousin of Ashton Looney (Arch ’18) and Mckenzie Canard (Educ ’18). The family resides in Arlington, VA.

Galina Boyarinova Lyles (Col ’08, Med ’12) and her husband, John Lyles (Grad ’05, ’11), welcomed their first child, a son, Jonathan Lyles, on May 4, 2016. The family recently relocated back to Charlottesville.

David Reed (Law ’06 L/M) and his wife Sara, welcomed their second daughter, Elizabeth Jane Reed, in February.  Big sister Annie could not be more excited to have a baby sister.  The Reeds live in Atlanta, Georgia where David is a patent attorney with Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton.

Allen C. Clark III (Col ’90 L/M) and his wife, Elena, welcomed a daughter, Julia Howell, on December 16, 2016. Julia joins brothers Allen and Henry, both 2. The family lives in Annapolis, Maryland, where Mr. Clark is the executive director of budget and finance for Maryland’s judicial branch.

On December 4, 2016, Margaret “Moggie” Bolton Baudinet (Col ’07 L/M) and her husband, Michael A. Baudinet (Col ’04 L/M) welcomed quintuplets—four girls and one boy—at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. After spending a month under care and observation in the hospital’s NICU, Ava Louise, Clara Catherine, Camille “Millie” Whitney, Isabelle Frances and Luke Thomas were released to their parents in early January.

The Baudinets had relocated temporarily from Charlottesville to Phoenix to work with Dr. John Elliott, a specialist in multiple-birth pregnancies. When the quintuplets were released from the hospital, the Baudinets were faced with a new hurdle: how to transport the babies to Virginia in peak flu season.  With the help of a fellow UVA alumnus, the family was able to find a private jet to take them home.

Grandparents Kaye and Thomas Bolton, Charles A. Baudinet (Darden ’81) and Virginia C. Baudinet (Educ ’80) are assisting the Baudinets with childcare. Ms. Baudinet is documenting life with quintuplets on her blog, Baudinetquints.blogspot.com.
