Beverly Carter (Col ’89 CM)
Beverly Carter (Col ’89 CM) is executive vice president of Media Predict Inc., a media and marketing research company based in New York City. Media Predict combines the concepts of a futures market and crowdsourcing to generate highly accurate and predictive research for major television advertisers and networks in the U.S., U.K. and Canada, including CBS, Univision and the BBC. Mr. Carter also serves as senior executive advisor to Brookside Equity Partners, a private equity firm based in Stamford, Connecticut; and is a board member of Mighty Squirrel, a craft brewer based in Boston. Mr. Carter; his wife, Viva; and their two children, Hill (13) and Henry (9), moved from Greenwich, Connecticut, to Hanover, New Hampshire, last summer.

Dennis Leyden (Col ’78 CM)
Dennis Leyden (Col ’78 CM) co-authored Public Sector Entrepreneurship: U.S. Technology and Innovation Policy with Albert N. Link; Oxford University Press published the book in February 2015. The authors put forth a new theory of entrepreneurship and apply that theory to the analysis of public sector entrepreneurship and U.S. innovation policy. Mr. Leyden is currently an associate professor in the department of economics at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Max Littlejohn (Educ ’63)
Max C Littlejohn passed away November 24,2014 after a brief illness. He graduated in 1963 with a Masters Degree in Education. He spent 34 years in public education.
Kimberly Banta (Col ’98)
Kimberly Banta (Col ’98) and her husband, Christopher, welcomed a daughter, Katherine Evangeline, “Kate,” on June 16, 2014. Kate joins big brother Kellen Christopher, 2. The family resides in Roanoke, Virginia.
Sander Dubovy (Col ’88 CM)
Sander Dubovy (Col ’88 CM) was named the Victor T. Curtin Chair in Ophthalmology at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where he is a professor of ophthalmology and pathology. Dr. Dubovy also serves as the director of the Ocular Pathology Laboratory of the Florida Lions Eye Bank and as medical director of the Eye Bank while maintaining a clinical practice in the diseases of the macula, retina and vitreous. He lives in the Coconut Grove neighborhood of Miami with his wife, Sarah, an attorney; and their three children, David, Chase and Hannah.
Paul Reinhardt (Col ’97 CM)

Commander Paul Reinhardt (CLAS ’97) relieved Commander Brad Terry as the Commanding Officer, USS ALABAMA BLUE (SSBN-731) on December 18th at a ceremony in Keyport, WA. USS ALABAMA is a ballistic submarine home ported in Bangor, WA. The Reinhardts reside in Keyport, WA.

Matthew Sait (Law ’14)

From July to October 2014, Matthew Sait cycled 5,000 miles across America, from Astoria, Oregon at the mouth of the Columbia River to Virginia Beach, passing through Charlottesville on the way.
Heather Byrne (Educ ’05)

Jonathan Byrne (Col ’05) and Heather McKay Byrne (Ed ’05) welcomed their second child, Rachel Virginia, on October 1, 2014. Their son, Jackson, is 3. Jonathan is working as an ER doctor and Heather is a part-time Physical Therapist. They live in Norfolk, VA.
Megan Clayton (Com ’06)
Megan L. Clayton, MPH, earned her PhD from the Department of Health, Behavior and Society at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health on November 5, 2014.

Joe Ramos (Col ’89, Grad ’96)
Joe Ramos (Col ’89, Grad ’96) was promoted to full professor at the University of Hawaii Cancer Center, where he has worked for 10 years and currently serves as director of the cancer biology program. He and his wife, Michelle L. Matter (Grad ’94), who is also a faculty member at the UH Cancer Center, live in Honolulu with their daughter, Brynn.
Michelle Albarado (Col ’95 CM)
Michelle Albarado (Col ’95 CM) and Kendrick Burner (Col ’95 L/M) welcomed a son, Andrew Scott, on Sept. 21, 2013. Andrew joins big sister Gabbi and big brothers Will, Jack and Jefferson. The family resides in Culpeper, Virginia.
Lisa Michaels (Col ’86, Med ’90 CM)
Lisa Michaels (Col ’86, Med ’90 CM) was promoted to vice president of global development and specialty medicine and group head for hematology at Bayer Healthcare. Dr. Michaels will continue to serve as clinical associate professor of pediatrics and medicine at the Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine at Rutgers University in New Jersey.
G. Farmer (Col ’58, Grad ’60 CM)
Received the Ph.D. in Geology from the University of Cincinnati. The author of six books two of which since 2013 on climate change and global warming. Retired from Los Alamos National Laboratory where I worked in DOEs Environmental Restoration program. Taught at James Madison University and founded the Geology major program then spent 13 years as a consultant in the environmental field. Co-authored the Final Report on the Love Canal Groundwater Monitoring system. Consultant to federal, state, and local governments as well as private industry in environmental reporting and regulatory compliance.
Marissa Moore (Col ’07)

Marissa Moore (Col ’07) and Jerome Moore (Engr ’07) welcomed their first child, a son, Ashton Lee Moore, on July 21, 2014. The family resides in Dallas, TX where Mr. Moore works as an electrical engineer at Raytheon and Mrs. Moore works in elementary education.
Elizabeth Larsen (Col ’90 CM)
Elizabeth Larsen (Col ’90 CM) published Gender, Work, and Harness Racing: Fast Horses and Strong Women in Southwestern Pennsylvania in November 2014 with Lexington Books, a division of Rowman & Littlefield.
Sam Hendricks (Col ’86 CM)

Sam Hendricks (Col ’86 CM) recently published Just One More, his 10th book and first work of fiction. The book chronicles a chain of global events set in motion by a flawed NATO airstrike in Afghanistan and poses the question, how far will one person go for revenge? Mr. Hendricks served in the U.S. Air Force, first flying RF4C fighter jets during the Cold War, and later, after transitioning to the F-15E Strike Eagle, earned three aerial achievement medals during combat missions in Operation Desert Storm. He left the Air Force in 1993 to work for McDonnell Douglas as an F-15E instructor, a job he has held for more than 20 years. He and his wife currently reside in England.
Stacie Court (Col ’86 CM)
Stacie Court (Col ’86 CM) was promoted to production director for the Athens Studio of Learning Ally in Athens, Georgia. In this role, Ms. Court is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the studio, including supervising staff and more than 100 studio volunteers, as well as home volunteers in several states as they work to support the needs of print-disabled students and lifelong learners across the country.

Chris Jones (SEAS 2013), Krista O’Connell (CLAS 2013), and Thomas Crossland (SEAS 2013) live in Arlington, Virginia and have a pet cat named “Jelly Bean”
Troy Lescher (Col ’98)
Troy Lescher (Col ’98) recently earned a doctorate in interdisciplinary fine arts from Texas Tech University. He was also named “Match of the Year” by the university’s mentoring program.
