LeeAnn Merritt (Col ’06 CM)
LeeAnn Merritt (Col ’06 CM) and John E. Martin Jr. were married on Sept. 22, 2012, in Richmond, Va. The couple resides in Washington, D.C., where Ms. Martin is a managing supervisor at VOX Global, a public affairs agency, and Mr. Martin is the legislative director for Rep. Phil Roe of Tennessee.

Megan Hidy (Col ’09, Educ ’10 CM)
Megan Hidy (Col ’09, Educ ’10 CM) and William Mahone VI (Col ’09 L/M) were married on Sept. 1, 2012, in Charlottesville. The couple resides in Emerald Isle, N.C., where Ms. Mahone teaches high school biology and Lt. Mahone serves as a logistics officer for the U.S. Marine Corps.
Toni Davis (Col ’94 CM)
Toni Davis (Col ’94 CM) and her husband, Ben, welcomed a son, Benjamin Baker, on Nov. 7, 2012. Baker joins big sister Liles, 3. The family resides in Raleigh, N.C., where Ms. Davis is the director of communications and public relations at the State Employees Association of North Carolina and Mr. Davis is a partner at Brooks, Pierce, McLendon, Humphrey and Leonard.

Danielle McCamey (Nurs ’03 CM)
Danielle M. Smith (McCamey) (NURS ’03) got married this past November to Steven J. Smith at the Beloved Hotel in Cancun, MX. Their wedding was featured in the Washington Post and on another online site. She also has completed her first year as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with the Surgical Critical Care Service at Medstar Washington Hospital Center. Danielle, a founder of the Most Passionate Pi Chapter of Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority, Incorporated, just celebrated 10 years of its establishment at the University and a decade of sisterhood.
Matt Charles (Col ’99 CM)
Matt Charles (Col ’99 CM) and his wife, Melissa Bryant Charles (Col ’98), have relocated to Charlottesville with their son, Cooper. Mr. Charles is the director of media relations at the Darden School of Business and Ms. Charles is involved in the Charlottesville arts scene as an actor and teacher.
Elio Jordan (Col ’08 CM)

Elio Jordan (Col ’08 CM) completed his two-year teaching commitment with EnseñaPerú, teaching English and Spanish verbal reasoning in low-income and vulnerable area high schools outside of Lima, Peru. He received the “Almirante Miguel Grau” National Award in October 2012, granted by the Peruvian Navy and Telefónica del Perú as part of the national campaign for values, “Somos Grau, Seámoslo Siempre,” recognized in the category of loyalty. El Comercio newspaper printed an interview with Mr. Jordan on June 19, 2012, highlighting his academic and professional achievements, including attending U.Va., and his decision to become a teacher with EnseñaPerú.
Carleen DiMeglio (Nurs ’01 CM)
Carleen DiMeglio (Nurs ’01 CM) and her husband, Philip, welcomed a son, Luca Anthony, on Oct. 21, 2012. The family resides in Richmond, Va.
Jeff Rudnicki (Col ’02, Com ’05, Darden ’11)
Emily Dowling (Clas ’02) and Jeff Rudnicki (Darden ’11) welcomed their first child, a daughter, Margaret “Maisie” Chase, on October 20, 2012. Maisie is the niece of Stuart Dowling (Comm ’05).

Andrea Keller (Com ’07, Com ’08 CM)
Andrea Keller (Com ’07, Com ’08 CM) married Daniel O’Flaherty Stone on June 23, 2012, at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church in Glen Allen, Va. Ms. Stone is the daughter of Andy Keller (Com ’72). The couple resides in Richmond, Va., where Ms. Stone is a senior accountant for Ernst & Young and Mr. Stone is a senior accountant with Media General, Inc. The wedding party included maid of honor Natasha Malik (Com ’07, ’08 L/M) and bridesmaids Nina Antony (Col ’07), Katherine Spruill (Com ’07, ’08 L/M) and Katie Whitmire (Col ’07).
Brendan Fitzgerald (Col ’06)

Brendan Fitzgerald (Col ’06) and Sierra Bellows (Grad ’08) were married on Sept. 29, 2012, at the home of John Casey in Charlottesville. The couple resides in Brooklyn, N.Y., where Mr. Fitzgerald is the communications manager at the Columbia Journalism Review and Ms. Bellows is a writer.
Griffin Myers (Engr ’00, Engr ’02 CM)
Griffin Myers (Engr ’00, Engr ’02 CM) and Elizabeth Rudd-Myers (Col ’02) welcomed their first child, Benjamin Graham Myers II, on Nov. 4, 2012. Ben is the grandson of the late Benjamin G. Myers (Educ ’83 L/M). The family resides in Durham, N.C., where Mr. Myers is an engineer with Signal Innovations Group and Ms. Rudd-Myers is a landscape designer with Bright Leaf Landscaping.
Colette Gresham (Col ’93)
Colette Borum Gresham (Col ’93) and Doran Gresham (Col ’94) welcomed their second child, Nina Elise, on July 24, 2012. Nina joins big sister Madison Dai. The family resides in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
Mariam Morse (Col ’04 CM)

Mariam Morse (Col ’04 CM) and Thomas Morse (Col ’04 L/M) welcomed a daughter, Genevieve Elizabeth, on Oct. 4, 2012. Genevieve joins big brother Jackson, 3, and big sister Alexandra, 22 months. Genevieve is the granddaughter of Susan Gatzek Hayes (Nurs ’74 L/M) and Marcia Morse (Educ ’98). The family resides in San Clemente, Calif.
Annie Rappeport (Educ ’11 CM)
Annie Rappeport (Educ ’11 CM) works for the Institute of Shipboard Education and Semester at Sea, sponsored by the University of Virginia. She works with international students and the Global Ambassadors Program, a young alumni volunteer group. Ms. Rappeport served as the outreach coordinator on the fall 2011 voyage that circumnavigated the globe and visited 14 countries.
Christen Smith (Col ’09)
Christen Smith (Col ’09) married George Angelo Faatz on August 18, 2012. at Trinity Episcopal Church in South Boston, Va. The wedding party included maid of honor Allison Knight (Col ’09 L/M) and bridesmaids Julie Eckert (Col ’09 L/M), Julie Vaeth (Com ’09) and Sara Gerringer Demeria (Col ’05 L/M). The couple resides in Virginia Beach, where Ms. Faatz serves as the legislative aide to state Senator Jeff McWaters and Mr. Faatz manages government affairs for Virginia Natural Gas.
Janet McIlwain (Col ’09)
Janet McIlwain (Col ’09) received a juris doctor degree from Elon University School of Law in May 2012. She was sworn in to the North Carolina bar by Judge Paul Ridgeway of the North Carolina Superior Court. She currently volunteers for Legal Aid of Durham and intends to practice small business, property and family law.
Cindy Wagner (Col ’08)
Cindy Wagner (Col ’08) married David Likens on March 24, 2012. The couple resides in Virginia Beach, where Ms. Likens teaches biology and Mr. Likens is employed by the U.S. Navy Cyber Defense Operations Command.
Emily Riggs (Col ’08 CM)
Emily Riggs (Col ’08 CM) received her Juris Doctor degree from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary in May 2012. While at Marshall-Wythe, Ms. Riggs served as a lead articles editor for the William and Mary Law Review and was a member of both the national trial team and the moot court team. She is now an associate attorney in the New York office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.
John Howard-Smith (Col ’08)
John Howard-Smith (Col ’08) married Tonje Strøm Romstad on September 1, 2012. Mr. Howard-Smith works in Charlottesville for the organic mattress manufacturer Savvy Rest. Ms. Romstad moved to the United States in June after completing a master’s degree in civil engineering.
Jessica Nelson (Com ’08 CM)
Jessica Nelson (Com ’08 CM) and Owen Basham (Com ’08 L/M) were married on July 21, 2012, at the University Chapel. The Bashams reside in New York City, where Ms. Basham is pursuing an MBA degree at Columbia Business School and Mr. Basham is an associate at Sentinel Capital Partners.
