Farah Sheriff Skrzypek (Col ’06) and her husband, Eric, welcomed a son, Zaiden Alexander, on April 18, 2011. He weighed 7 lbs and measured 19.75 inches. He is the couple’s first child and arrived on his mother’s birthday.

Erin Allebaugh Muller (Col ’97, Nurs ’06) and her husband, Darrell, welcomed their first child, Thomas Maxwell, on Aug. 25, 2010. The family resides in Charlottesville, where Ms. Muller works as a labor and delivery nurse at the U.Va. Health System.

Andrew Mulvania (Grad ’99) is a tenured professor of English at Washington & Jefferson College in Pennsylvania.

H.J. Manzari (Grad ’95, ’01) is a tenured professor of modern languages at Washington & Jefferson College in Pennsylvania, specializing in Spanish.

Kristen Stairs Corderman (Educ ’92 L/M) received a doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Montana in May 2011. She is currently a part owner and practitioner at a clinic in Niceville, Fla., specializing in outpatient orthopedics.

Tony Medley (Law ‘65) has achieved the status of Silver Life Master in the American Contract Bridge League. Mr. Medley is the author of three books, UCLA Basketball: The Real Story; Sweaty Palms: The Neglected Art of Being Interviewed; and The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Bridge. He is also a film critic, accredited by the Motion Picture Association of America.

Pebbles Fagan (Col ’90) is an associate professor and program director of the Cancer Prevention and Control Program at the University of Hawaii Cancer Center. She recently relocated to Honolulu from Maryland, where she worked for ten years at the National Cancer Institute.

Mary Hager (Col ’87 L/M) is executive producer of CBS News’ Face the Nation. She lives in Falls Church, Va., with her daughter, Kate, 3.

Scott Douglas Gerber (Law ’86, Grad ’92) had a legal thriller, Mr. Justice, published by Sunbury Press.

Clinton E. Brown (Arch ’80) was invested into the American Institute of Architects’ College of Fellows at the AIA 2011 National Convention. Mr. Brown is president and principal of Clinton Brown Company Architecture in Buffalo, N.Y.

Paul M. Wiley (Col ’10 L/M) has begun working as a speechwriter for the British Embassy in Washington, D.C. In addition to speeches for the UK ambassador to the United States, Mr. Wiley writes op-eds and blog posts. Prior to joining the embassy staff, he was a White House intern with the office of digital strategy. He is the grandson of Ronald D. Wiley (Col ’58 L/M), and the son of Ronald D. Wiley Jr. (Col ’80 L/M) and Gail Hyder Wiley (Col ’80 L/M).

David Claude Horres (Engr ’09 L/M) and Lorna Haviland Schadeberg (Col ’09 L/M) were married on June 12, 2010, in Alexandria, Va. The couple resides in Cambridge, Mass.

Leigh Ellen Lybrand (Col ’06 L/M) married Cranston Gray on March 5, 2011, in Columbia, S.C. The couple resides in Washington, D.C., where Ms. Gray is a legislative aide to Sen. Lindsey Graham and Mr. Gray is an emergency room scribe at Inova Fairfax Hospital. The couple plans to relocate to Charleston this fall, where Ms. Gray will matriculate at the Charleston School of Law and Mr. Gray will begin his studies at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Shannon Montague (Col ’05 L/M) is the middle school technology coordinator at the Bryn Mawr School in Baltimore. She received her master’s degree in educational leadership from the Klingenstein Center at Columbia University in May 2010.

Jace L. Fogle (Engr ’05, ’06) and Jennifer L. Fogle (Engr ’04 L/M) welcomed a daughter, Alexis Lea, on May 19, 2011. The family resides in the San Francisco Bay area.

Anne Castle Personett (Educ ’01 L/M) and her husband, Benjamin, welcomed a son, William Anderson, born Feb. 9, 2011. William joins a brother, Barrett, 2, with whom he shares a birthday. The family resides in Atlanta.

Matthew William Marzetti (Col ’01) and Maren Riehm Marzetti (Col ’01 L/M) welcomed their first child, Alexandra Leighton, on May 7, 2011. The couple lives near Richmond, Va., where Mr. Marzetti has joined the law firm of Troutman Sanders.

Paul Harris (Educ ’01, ’03 L/M) and Taylor Sharp Harris (Col ’05) welcomed a daughter, Eliot Mae, on Dec. 1, 2010. The family resides in Northern Virginia.

Rob Fortson (Col ’00) is a director with Georgia360, a diversified public affairs firm, in its health care practice. Mr. Fortson practices law in the education, legislative and regulatory, governmental relations, and labor and employment fields.

Jessica Lowe (Col ’98 L/M) received a teaching award from the Association of Princeton Graduate Alumni. She is currently working toward her doctorate in American history at Princeton University.

Robert Cooley (Com ’98 L/M) and his wife, Amber, welcomed their second child, Carys Reaves, in September 2010. The couple resides in Atlanta, where Mr. Cooley works in finance for Home Depot. Mr. Cooley received a master’s degree in business administration from Georgetown University in 2003.

Amy Kitchell Wincko (Col ’97 L/M) received the Corporate Professional Achievement Award from Professional Women in Construction. Ms. Wincko is first vice president of construction operations for Tishman Construction Company.

Marvin Heinze (Arch ’80) is the assistant for homeland defense for the Naval Mine and Anti-Submarine Warfare Command in San Diego. Mr. Heinze also serves as the vice chairman of the USO of San Diego and on the Pacific Advisory Council of the National Parks Conservation Association.

Michael Guthrie (Educ ’75, ’76) is the 2011 Charlottesville Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Person of the Year. Mr. Guthrie is the chief executive officer of Roy Wheeler Realty. He lives with his wife, Dottie McCreary Guthrie (Col ’79 L/M), in Charlottesville.

Howard E. Gordon (Col ’69, Law ’72 L/M) received the 2011 Traver Scholar Award. He is a partner in the real estate section of the Williams Mullen law firm. Mr. Gordon’s practice focuses on commercial and multifamily real estate, commercial leases, ground leases, land use planning and permits, and traditional urban developments.

Kristen Sprano (Col ’08 L/M) will begin the master of business administration degree program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in August. She leaves New York City after three years of management consulting. This summer, she will take a three-week trip in Europe with John Mongan (Engr ’08).

Trevor Perrier (Engr ’08) is a Peace Corps volunteer. He has taught math and science in a South African township since July 2008.

Richard Horner (Col ’08) works at the Coquette Bistro and Wine Bar in New Orleans.

J. Britton Williston (Col ’00 L/M) and his wife, Gillian, welcomed a son, Richard Winfield, on May 26, 2011.

Jessica McBride Wilson (Com ’99 L/M) and her husband, Kent, welcomed the birth of their second child, Robert, on Feb. 18, 2011. Bobby joins a brother, Jack. The family now resides in Northern Virginia.

Tom Shortt (Educ ’86 L/M) received the 2011 Jo Lynne DeMary Award at the William & Mary School of Education. Mr. Shortt is a former director of the Virginia Association of Elementary School Principals.

Karen King Brazell (Col ’76, Educ ’80 L/M) is a Supreme Court of Virginia Certified Mediator and Certified Parent Educator, serving Westmoreland, Essex and Richmond County juvenile and domestic relations courts. She is also a grant writer for several agencies and nonprofits.

Thomas F. Pettigrew (Col ’52) co-wrote a book, When Groups Meet: The Dynamics of Intergroup Contact, published by Psychology Press.
