Steve Gong (Col ’07) moved to London and is pursuing a master’s degree in photojournalism and documentary photography at the London College of Communication.

Blair Reilly (Com ’07 CM)
Blair Reilly (Com ’07 L/M) lives in Arlington, Va., and is a client service manager at comScore, Inc., a digital market intelligence company headquartered outside Washington, D.C. She has been working in the digital marketing world since graduation.
Megan Clark (Col ’08)
Megan Clark (Col ’08) is business operations manager for a financial planning company in the Washington, D.C. area. She also volunteers with Fairfax County Fire and Rescue as an EMT, works at the VA Hospital Center as an emergency room technician and is attending graduate school at George Mason University.
Alison Tramba (Engr ’07 CM)
Alison Tramba (Engr ’07 L/M) is completing her third year at Bain & Company in Boston after spending nine months working in business development with TechnoServe in Swaziland.

Daniel Rinehart (Engr ’99 CM)
Daniel Rinehart (Engr ’99 L/M) and his wife, Betsy Poitevent Rinehart (Col ’99 L/M) welcomed their second child, Helen Grehan, on Feb. 6, 2009. Helen joins brother, Edward, born June 30, 2006. Mr. Rinehart joined Brazos Private Equity Partners as a vice president in January. The family lives in Dallas.
Eric Ast (Engr ’07)
Eric Ast (Engr ’07) and Sean McVey (Com ’07) launched a new web-based marketing firm, Rising Lynx Marketing at www.risinglynx.com. They are working to apply the diversity of their marketing and engineering backgrounds to help businesses grow a well-rounded, meaningful online presence.
Erin Levin (Col ’07 CM)
Erin Levin (Col ’07 L/M) is producing a documentary about the African Children’s Choir and Music for Life. She made a 30-minute version that aired on CNN. Also, she is helping with the global telethon to help Haiti and is hosting a music and arts festival for Uganda in Atlanta in March.
Elizabeth Oswald (Col ’07 CM)

Elizabeth “Oz” Oswald (Col ’07 L/M) is the development manager for St. Martin’s Episcopal School, a pre-K through 8th grade institution in Atlanta. She lives with fellow U.Va. graduate, Marissa Kessler (Col ’07 L/M) in Inman Park in downtown Atlanta. Since graduating from U.Va., Ms. Oswald has become an avid salsa dancer. She travels throughout the Southeast and East Coast performing at and attending salsa events.
Mark Hudson (Col ’75 CM)

Mark Alan Hudson (Col ’75 L/M) is president of HTMH Consulting, based in Shelby, N.C. He completed service as the 2009 chairman of the board of the Cleveland County Chamber of Commerce. He was also named as editor of Foothills Spotlight Magazine, also based in Shelby.
Kathryn Peacock (Engr ’04)

Kathryn Peacock (Engr ’04) married Anthony Russo on Sept. 18, 2009. The couple resides in Collingswood, N.J., where Mr. Russo works as an HVAC technician and Ms. Russo works as a civil engineer.
Haley Burton (Col ’08)
Haley Burton (Col ’08) received a master’s of science degree in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and works as a multi-media journalist at WBNG-TV in Binghamton, N.Y.
John Allis (Col ’75)
John D. Allis Jr. (Col ’75) is principal engineer for the water planning and design section of Colorado Springs Utilities. He lives in Black Forest, Colo., with his wife, Catherine. They have been married for 36 years and have three children, Emily, Ben and Daniel.
Cynthia McKay (Col ’93 CM)
Cynthia McKay (Col ’93 L/M) married Benjamin Abalos on Dec. 31, 2009. Ms. Abalos is an attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice, and the couple resides in Alexandria, Va.
Tania Grant (Com ’98 CM)
Tania Jovanovic Grant (Com ’98 L/M) and her husband, Mike, launched Pure Play Kids, which offers healthy alternatives to mainstream children’s products to encourage and enrich creative childhoods. The couple has two children: Rodger, 3; and Roland, 17 months.

Laura Scott (Col ’08) is finishing her master’s degree of design from Carnegie Mellon University in May.

Stanley Birch (Col ’67 CM)
Stanley F. Birch Jr. (Col ’67 L/M) received the Intellectual Property Legends Award in September from a collaboration of academic and business associations in Atlanta. He has served as a U.S. Circuit Judge for the Eleventh Circuit since 1990. Judge Birch served in the U.S. Army and is a Vietnam War veteran. He practiced law in Gainesville, Ga., and in Atlanta with Vaughan, Davis, Birch & Murphy until he took his oath of office. His practice focused on copyright law in the entertainment and computer software industries. A frequent speaker and author on the law of copyright, Judge Birch has co-authored a book on copyright with the late Professor L. Ray Patterson of the University of Georgia Law School. At the invitation of the Copyright Society of the USA, Judge Birch presented the 36th Annual Donald C. Brace Lecture on the law of copyright in November of 2006 at the New York University School of Law. The Intellectual Property Legends Award is an event hosted by Georgia State University College of Law and Georgia State University J. Mack Robinson College of Business that recognizes individuals who have made contributions to the area of intellectual property, both on the business side and the legal side.
Jared Goss (Arch ’88 CM)
Jared Goss (Arch ’88 L/M) is an associate curator in the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s department of 19th-century, modern and contemporary art in New York City. Mr. Goss arranged “Masterpieces of French Art Deco”, a large gallery dense with French Art Deco furnishings from the museum’s design collection. The selection is nearly 150 objects, which is about 75 percent of the Met’s French Art Deco collection and is the most it has ever exhibited at one time. The show was featured in The New York Times Art Review section on December 11, 2009.

William Bowron (Col ’75 CM)
William Bowron (Col ’75 L/M) is president and chief executive officer of Red Diamond, Inc. He is also chairman of the Tea Association of the USA. This is his second term as chairman. Red Diamond is a family-run coffee and tea company, the first in the U.S. to manufacture completely sealed tea bags and the first in the country to offer gallon-sized tea bags. In addition, Red Diamond was the first company in the U.S. to produce decaffeinated tea. Today, it is the nation’s number one seller of ready-to-drink gallon tea in dairy case. Mr. Bowron was named 2009 CEO of the Year by the Birmingham Business Journal. He serves on the board of directors f rRed Diamond and has served on the boards of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, the Birmingham-Jefferson Historical Museum, St. Vincent’s Foundation and the Birmingham United Soccer Association. He serves as a trustee of the Birmingham Regional Chamber of Commerce and on the advisory board of PreSchool Partners. Mr. Bowron is a member of the Rotary Club of Birmingham and the World Presidents’ Organization.

Bob Oakes (Col ’84)
Bob Oakes (Col ’84) was elected to a four-year term as mayor of Nags Head, N.C., following six years on the Town of Nags Head board of commissioners. Mr. Oakes serves as president of White Cap Linen and is owner of Village Realty, both of which operate in Eastern North Carolina. Village Realty, with offices in Corolla, Nags Head and Columbia, N.C., and Ocracoke Island Realty in North Carolina, specialize in vacation rentals, real estate sales and association management throughout the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
Frank Muñoz (Col ’07)
Frank Michael Muñoz (Col ’07) received a master’s degree of education in higher education and student affairs in May from the University of Vermont, where he is the event coordinator for the Dudley H. Davis Center, the nation’s first LEED Gold Certified student center. He resides in Burlington, Vt.
Judy Coutts (Arch ’79)
Judy Coutts (Arch ’79) completed two projects for the Pennsylvania State University Altoona campus: its new Communications Center and its Advisory Board Suite. Both projects were published in the Pennsylvania Business Central “2009 Regional Showcase of New Buildings”. Ms. Coutts lives in Altoona, Pa., with her husband and son.
Sally Tusa (Col ’94 CM)

Sally Tusa (Col ’94 L/M) and Jason Abbey (Col ’94, Arch ’98) were married on May 16, 2009, in Greenwich, Conn. Approximately 50 U.Va. alumni attended. The couple resides in New York City.
Amita Rao (Col ’99 CM)
Amita Rao (Col ’99 L/M) and her husband, Sujay, welcomed their first son, Roshan Sujay, on May 26, 2009. The family resides in Herndon, Va.
Richard White (Com ’78)
Richard “Rick” O. White Jr. (Com ’78) is a certified public accountant and works as a tax principal at Keiter Stephens, a Richmond, Va.-based CPA firm. Mr. White’s practice includes tax services to individuals and rapidly growing privately-held businesses in the real estate development and construction, early-stage biotechnology, medical equipment, pharmaceutical and winery industries. Prior to merging his practice with Keiter Stephens, Mr. White was co-founder of Hoffman, White & Company, P.C.
Anna Cuccio (Col ’00 CM)
Anna Cuccio (Col ’00 L/M) spent nine years at Morgan Stanley in both New York and London, and is now pursuing further graduate studies. She is at Oxford University studying for a master’s degree in economic and social history with a focus on the history and financing of the welfare state. While at Morgan Stanley, Ms. Cuccio worked in equity research and sales, most recently as a vice president of client strategy.

Gary Wallace (Com ’85 CM)
Gary G. Wallace (Com ’85, Grad ’86 L/M) is a certified public accountant. He is a tax principal at Keiter Stephens, a CPA firm based in Richmond, Va. Mr. Wallace has more than 23 years of accounting experience both in the private and public sectors. He previously served as the chief financial officer for The Riverstone Group and CCA Industries, Inc., and as a tax partner with the Richmond office of KPMG.
Nicolas Scribner (Engr ’03 CM)

Nicolas Scribner (Engr ’03 L/M) started his own engineering business, Continuum Engineering, in Chesapeake, Va.

Sarah Greenawalt (Arch ’01) and Stuart Naranch were married on Sept. 12, 2009. The couple resides in Washington, D.C.

Edward Koch (Law ’80 CM)
Edward R. Koch (Law ’80 L/M) published his novel, Relay, with Dog Ear Publishing. The book is for young adults about high school track and field. Mr. Koch is a partner at the CPA firm of Paul Scherer & Company in New York City and he lives in New Jersey with his wife, Cora, and two sons.

Elizabeth Busch (Col ’06 CM)
Elizabeth Masci Busch (Col ’06 L/M) and her husband, Brian Busch, welcomed their daughter, Audrey Grace, born on Sept. 12, 2009. She weighed 6 pounds and measured 18.5 inches long.
David Stolle (Col ’95)
David Stolle (Col ’95) and Ashley Zlatoper Stolle (Col ’95, Med ’00 L/M) welcomed their third child and first boy, Alexander “Lex”, on April 16. 2009. He joins sisters, Livi and Kate. They reside in Norcross, Ga., where Mr. Stolle heads Universal Tennis Academy and Ms. Stolle is a pediatrician with Gwinnett Pediatrics.
Meredith Yoder (Engr ’01 CM)

Meredith Logsdon Yoder (Engr ’01 L/M) and Ben Yoder (Engr ’01) announce the birth of their twins, Caroline Elizabeth and Max Henry, on Oct. 15, 2009. The family resides outside of Boston.
Daniel Chichester (Col ’65, Law ’68 CM)
Daniel M. Chichester (Col ’65, Law ’68 L/M) is a Stafford Commonwealth attorney in Stafford, Va., and serves as vice president of the National District Attorney’s Association. The association represents 7,000 criminal prosecutors, including district attorneys, state’s attorneys, attorneys general and county and city prosecutors who are responsible for prosecuting criminal violations in the U.S. It seeks to improve and facilitate the administration of justice through involvement with various legislation and the promotion of public service and education. As vice president, Mr. Chichester is involved in the legislative and educational functions of the association. He is serving a three-year term. He has been a Stafford’s Commonwealth’s attorney since 1971. His office has grown from one attorney to an organization of 13 attorneys. He previously served on the NDAA’s board of directors as Virginia’s state director. He also serves as president of the Virginia Association of Commonwealth’s Attorneys.
Keith Robbins (Arch ’95 CM)
Keith S. Robbins (Arch ’95 L/M) relocated to Shanghai. He is a director of Ager Environmental Design, a Sino-American design firm with offices in Shanghai, Beijing and Boston.
William Cogswell (Com ’95 CM)
William R. Cogswell (Com ’95 L/M) left United Bank to join State Farm Insurance as an auto underwriter in their Mid-Atlantic Operations Center in Charlottesville.
Katie Cooper (Nurs ’00 CM)

Katie Berschback Cooper (Nurs ’00) and Carlos Cooper (Col ’99) welcomed their second child and son, Beckett Andrew, born on April 30, 2009. He joins sister, Juliet Elizabeth, 2. Ms. Cooper is a nurse anesthetist in Nashville, Tenn., and Mr. Cooper owns Oxford Property Management.
Alec Solotorovsky (Col ’04, Law ’08 CM)
Alec Solotorovsky (Col ’04, Law ’08 L/M) and Christa Kolb Solotorovsky (Arch ’04, ’08 L/M) welcomed their first child, Anna, on Jan. 11, 2010. The family lives in Evanston, Ill.
Jesimiel Jenkins (Col ’07 CM)

Jesimiel R. Jenkins (Col ’07 L/M) is pursuing his dreams of being an accomplished stage and film actor. Running after projects that satisfy the soul, he’s been involved in two acting apprentice companies, the Actors Theatre of Louisville in Kentucky and the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia. He is in Philadelphia applying to graduate acting programs in hopes of sharpening his skills before moving to New York.
Jennifer Gray (Col ’97 CM)

Jennifer Morgan Gray (Col ’97 L/M) and her husband, Doug, traveled to Seoul, South Korea, in August to meet and welcome their son, Keon Morgan Gray, born on Nov. 6, 2008. Keon arrived at his new home in Rockville, Md., on Sept. 3, 2009. Ms. Gray is the director of editorial services at the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
Jeremy Pollock (Col ’07)
Jeremy S. Pollock (Col ’07) lives in Baltimore and is a third-year medical student at the University of Maryland. He is pursuing a career in cardiology and hopes to move to San Diego next year to start his training.
Anne Pullen (Com ’91, Grad ’92 CM)
Anne Bennett Pullen (Com ’91, Grad ’92 L/M) married Stephen Ray Alexander on Sept. 13, 2009, in Dallas. Her brother is John David Pullen (Com ’95 L/M), who officiated the ceremony. Ms. Pullen also became stepmother to Christopher Cole Ray Alexander.
C. Setliff (Col ’83 CM)
C. Stephen Setliff (Col ’83 L/M) was selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2010 list in the field of transportation law. Including the 2008 and 2009 listings, this makes three consecutive years that Mr. Setliff has appeared in the list. Mr. Setliff was also named in the 2009 Virginia Super Lawyers publication in the field of transportation law. He, along with another attorney, opened the law firm of Setliff & Holland in Glen Allen, Va., in June of 2006, and two years later, opened a second office in Baltimore. This January, the firm added a third location in Huntington, W.Va., creating the expanded law firm of Setliff Turner and Holland.
Leah Friedman (Col ’99 CM)

Leah Friedman (Col ’99 L/M) and her husband, Stephen Feldman, were blessed with the birth of their son, Jordan Nadav, on Sept. 25, 2009. Jordan joins his sister Tova, 2, who refused to say her brother’s name for the first three months. The family lives in Raleigh, N.C., where Leah is a reporter for The News & Observer.
Dean Hasseman (Darden ’78, Law ’71 CM)
Dean Hasseman (Law ’71 L/M) is general counsel of CITGO Petroleum Corp. He received the 2009 Houston Business Journal/Association of Corporate Counsel Outstanding Counsel with an Attorney Staff of 11-30 Award. He also received the 2009 HBJ/ACC Champion of Diversity Award. This February, he will receive the 2010 Minority Corporate Counsel Association Employer of Choice – South/Southwest Region – award from the CITGO Legal Department.
Glenn Williamson (Col ’85 CM)
Glenn Williamson (Col ’85 L/M) and Dr. Kurtis Charles Birusingh were married Sept. 19, 2009, at Mr. Birusingh’s parent’s farm in Crescent, Iowa. Mr. Williamson is an independent film producer in Los Angeles. His films include “Sunshine Cleaning” and “Push,” which were released earlier this year, and “Hollywoodland,” which was released in 2006. He was an executive producer of “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,” released in 2004. Mr. Williamson and is co-chairing his 25th U.Va. reunion and he showed his latest film, “Wonderful World,” at the 2009 Virginia Film Festival. He is also a board member for the Film Festival.

Ben Treanor (Col ’04)
Ben Treanor (Col ’04) and Brittany Averette (Col ’04) were married on Oct. 17, 2009 at the U.Va. Chapel. Mr. Treanor is the son of Craig Treanor (Engr ’78), who officiated the ceremony. The couple lives in Richmond, Va., where they founded Refresh Web Design & Internet Marketing.
Margaret Alexander (Col ’01)
Margaret Maddy Alexander (Col ’01) married Khoury Nicholas Ashooh on Oct. 10, 2009, in Rehoboth Beach, Del. Ms. Alexander is the daughter of Edward L. Alexander III (Col ’74, Med ’78 L/M), and the sister of Julia C. Alexander (Col ’04) and Cynthia L. Alexander (Col ’06 L/M). The couple resides in Atlanta.

Charles Evans (Grad ’69, Med ’69 CM)
Charles H. Evans Jr. (Grad ’69, Med ’69 L/M) and his wife, Nancy, reside in Seattle near their daughter, Heather Evans (Col ’93, Grad ’04 L/M); son-in-law, Chris Baldwin; and grandsons, Miles, 2, and Nash, 6. Dr. Evans retired as professor and chair of human science at Georgetown University on July 1, 2009, after 40 years in biomedical research and teaching, the first 27 as chief of tumor biology at the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Evans now plays the piano and sings as a tenor in the Magnolia Chorale and is involved in service activities with the Rotary Club of Magnolia in Seattle.
Andrew Garrahan (Col ’05, Law ’13 CM)
Andrew Duffield Garrahan (Col ’05 L/M) and Emily Jane Wang (Com ’04, GSBA ’10 L/M) were married on Dec. 19, 2009, in two feet of snow at the U.Va. Chapel. The couple resides in Charlottesville.

Katherine Canupp (Col ’05)
Katherine Lee Canupp (Col ’05) married Donald Coleman on Nov. 7, 2009, at Fair Winds Farm in Virginia Beach. The couple resides in Virginia Beach, where Mr. Coleman and his twin brother manage their law firm, Coleman & Coleman, PLC.
