Jeffrey Alan Grossman (Engr ’02) and Kelleigh Carlyle Bannen (Col ’03) were married Nov. 8, 2003. Mr. Grossman is brand manager of SMART Center Nashville. Ms. Bannen completed a 90-day tour in honor of her late brother Grant, catalogued at www.90in90.com.

Daniel Rubin (Engr ’01) and Emily Krause (Col ’02) announce the birth of their daughter, Lily Alice Rubin, on Nov. 10, 2008.

Timothy Davis (Educ ’01) is an assistant professor of physical education at the State University of New York at Cortland, and received the college’s eighth Dr. Rozanne Brooks Dedicated Teacher Award. Mr. Davis joined SUNY Cortland in 1998 as an assistant professor and received tenure in 2004. He serves on the college’s Student Affairs Committee as the School of Professional Studies representative for the Faculty Senate. He also chairs the Adapted Physical Education National Standards Project and is an adviser for Flaghouse Inc., and GeoFitness Inc. He has presented at numerous conferences and has written for several publications and children’s books. From 1995 to 1997, he was an instructor in the Department of Health and Physical Education at the University of Virginia.

Courtney Wirwahn (Col ’00 L/M) and Tom Enright (Col ’01) were married Aug. 23, 2008. The couple resides in Atlanta, where Ms. Enright is a consultant for Deloitte and Mr. Enright is an M.B.A. degree candidate at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.

Michael Homenick (Engr ’00 L/M) and his wife, Elizabeth, announce the birth of their daughter, Avery Grace, on March 26, 2009.

Laura E. Gardner (Col ’00 L/M) was appointed clerk of court for the Richmond Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court in Richmond, Va., on March 10, 2008.

Nicholas Acquavella (Col ’00 L/M) and his wife, Travis Long Acquavella (Col ’00 L/M), welcomed their second child, Shelby Allen, on March 18, 2009. Shelby joins sister Chloe, 2. The family resides in New York.

Gwendolyn Wilson Osborn (Col ’99 L/M) and her husband, Michael, welcomed their first child, Eleanor McKinnon, on Jan. 19, 2009. The family is planning a move from California to Portland, Ore., this summer. 

Jim McCabe (Com ’99) and Kimberly Loomis McCabe (Nurs ’99) welcomed their daughter, Colleen Rose, on Feb. 4, 2009. Colleen joins a brother, Patrick. 

Jennifer Chafin King (Col ’99 L/M) and Lee Jordan King (Col ’99) celebrated the birth of their first child and daughter, Emery Jordan, on Jan. 13, 2009. Ms. King works in marketing at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Mr. King is a district manager with PACCAR Inc. The family resides in Smyrna, Ga.

Jeff Jenkins (Col ’99) married Christina Andrew on April 18, 2009, in Naples, Fla. Groomsmen include Brian Christiansen (Com ’99), Brian Deitz (Com ’99) & Julian Moore (Com ’00).

Michelle Morris Heimgartner (Engr ’99 L/M) and Glenn Heimgartner (Col ’00, Arch ’09 L/M) welcomed their first child, Owen Glenn, on Nov. 8, 2008. Mr. Heimgartner will receive a master’s degree in urban and environmental planning from the U.Va. School of Architecture in May. Ms. Heimgartner is an environmental engineer for the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Volpe Center. The couple resides in Charlottesville.

Victoria Sweeney Habas (Engr ’99 L/M) and her husband, Bryan, celebrate the birth of their first child, Carson Daniel Habas, on Jan. 28, 2009.

Elizabeth Douglas Bell (Col ’99 L/M) and David Bell (Law ’01) welcomed their second child, Andrew Joseph “AJ,” on Feb. 14, 2009. AJ joins his sister, Charlotte Emily, 2. The family resides in Springfield, Va. 

Lindsey Bashaw Wilson (Arch ’98 L/M) and her husband, Matt, welcomed their second son, Oliver Bell, on Jan. 3, 2009. He joins brother Charlie, 3. Ms. Wilson is a radiology resident in Cleveland.

Nicholas A. Wasko (Engr ’98 L/M) and Adrienne E. Wasko (Engr ’00) welcomed their daughter, Violet Sophia, on March 5, 2009. Violet joins a brother, Luke, 4.

Christopher J. Stands (Col ’98 L/M) and Maryanna Essig Stands (Col ’98, Educ ’99 L/M) welcomed their third child, Hayes Christopher, on Feb. 5, 2009. Hayes joins sister Emerson, 3; and brother Porter, 2. The family resides in Lynchburg, Va.

Theresa Titolo Roche (Col ’98 L/M) and John Daniel Roche (Engr ’99, GSBA ’10 L/M) welcomed their first child, Megan Grace, on Sept. 19, 2008. Mr. Roche is a senior manager at Sapient Corp., and Ms. Roche is of counsel at the law firm of WilmerHale. The family resides in Arlington, Va.

M. Dennis Mendoza (Educ ’98, ’99, Nurs ’02 L/M) received a master’s degree from Georgetown University in December, with a specialization in nurse anesthesia. He is employed by Fair Oaks Anesthesia Associates and works as a certified registered nurse anesthetist at Inova Alexandria Hospital. He lives in Arlington, Va.

Cindy Waters Dodge (Com ’98) and her husband, Richard, welcomed their second and third daughters, Mackenzie and Anika, on May 5, 2008. Mackenzie and Anika join their sister, Addison, 2. The Dodge girls are the nieces of Heidi Waters Thorsen (Com ’93) and Rebecca Waters (Col ’02).

John E. Slaughter III (Law ’97) and his wife, Mika, announce the birth on Feb. 18, 2009, to triplets, John Edward IV, Maya Audrey and Emma Yoshiko. The family lives in Durham, N.C.

Henry I. Willett III (Col ’96) is chair-elect of the Virginia Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division. He also serves on its board of governors and is a partner with Christian & Barton in Richmond, Va.

Haley Rose Sanchez (Col ’96 L/M) and her husband, Craig, welcomed a son, Evan William, on July 9, 2008. Evan joins his sister, Caroline, 2. The family resides in San Francisco

Shelley Dunn McGinness (Col ’96 L/M) and her husband, Patrick, welcomed their second child and daughter, Ashley Francis, on Jan. 22, 2009. Ashley joins sister Erin, 2. The family resides in North Potomac, Md.

Lisa Wechsler Childress (Col ’96 L/M) and Trey Childress (Col ’97 L/M) announce the birth of their first child, Donald Earl “Jacob” Childress IV, who was born on Nov. 24, 2008. Mr. Childress left the appellate practice group at Jones Day in Washington, D.C., to become an associate professor of law at Pepperdine University School of Law. Ms. Childress completed her doctorate in higher education administration at George Washington University and is publishing her first book, The Twenty-first Century University: Developing Faculty Engagement in Internationalization, with Peter Lang Publishers.

Shannon Upp Hunt (Col ’95, Educ ’95 L/M) and her husband, Kenneth Hunt, welcomed their first daughter, Camille Virginia, on Nov. 26, 2008. Camille joins her brother, Garrison, 2. The family resides in Asheville, N.C.

Laura Whanger Morello (Col ’95 L/M) and her husband, Kevin, welcomed their first son and third child, Michael “Grady,” on Nov. 24, 2008. Grady joins sisters Maddie, 9; and Claire, 6. Grady is the nephew of David Whanger (Col ’99 L/M) and Tommy Whanger (Engr ’03).

William Doyle (Col ’95, Law ’00 L/M) and Brooke Graham Doyle (Col ’94, Educ ’00 L/M) announce the birth of their son, Nathan James. He was born Feb. 16, 2009, and joins his sister, Meghan; and brother, Brendan. The Doyles live in Seattle.

Kristian Fonss (Arch ’95) and his wife, Kari, welcomed their first child and son, Karsten Ulrik, on Jan. 6, 2009. The family resides in Arlington, Va.

Mary Kelly Stokes (Col ’94 L/M) and her husband, Mark, welcomed their third child, Maeve Mickley, on Jan. 12, 2009. She joins a sister, Lauren, 6; and a brother, Luke, 3. Maeve is the granddaughter of James Vincent Kelly (Col ’69 L/M) and Victoria Elizabeth Fuller Kelly (Educ ’70). The family resides in Philadelphia, where Ms. Stokes is an attorney at the law firm of Blank Rome.

Stefan Sittig (Col ’94 L/M) is a director, choreographer, fight director, actor, singer and dancer living in the Washington, D.C., area. His directing and choreography/fight direction work has been seen in New York (off-Broadway); Canada; Uruguay; Washington, D.C.; Virginia; Maryland and Pennsylvania. As an actor, he has performed for several regional theaters. He holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in theatre and serves on the faculty of the University of Maryland, University College, where he teaches acting, introduction to theatre and introduction to humanities courses. Shawn Gibson (Com ’94) launched an investment management firm, Blue Ridge Asset Management, with two partners. 

Kathy Lawrence (Col ’94) married Scott A. Swanjord on Feb. 23, 2008. Ms. Lawrence graduated from the William & Mary Law School in May 2008, passed the Virginia Bar Examination in July 2008 and, in September 2008, began her second career as an attorney in the business section of the firm of Hirschler Fleischer in Richmond, Va. The couple lives in the city of Richmond.

Toni Cooper Davis (Col ’94 L/M) and her husband, Ben, welcomed their daughter, Liles Cooper Davis, on Jan. 7, 2009. The family resides in Raleigh, N.C.

Colette Borum Gresham (Col ’93) and Doran V. Gresham (Col ’94 L/M) are pleased to announce the birth of their daughter, Madison Dai, on Dec. 12, 2008.

Wendy M. Yoviene (Col ’92, Law ’97) practices law with the firm of Ober/Kaler in the commercial litigation and government relations practices in the firm’s Washington, D.C., office. Ms. Yoviene handles a wide range of complex litigation in the federal courts and is active in the American Agricultural Law Association and the Administrative Law and Litigation sections of the American Bar Association. She lives in McLean, Va.

Jackson Moore (Col ’92 L/M) and Jeanne Blackstock Moore (Col ’92) welcomed their fourth child, Anna Lindsay, on Nov. 28, 2008. Anna Lindsay joins Elizabeth, 11; Jack, 5; and Charlotte, 2. The family resides in Raleigh, N.C., where Mr. Moore is a partner with the law firm of Smith, Anderson, Blount, Dorsett, Mitchell & Jernigan.

David D. Dubay (Col ’91 L/M) and his wife, Carolyn; and twin daughters, Emma and Olivia, moved from Alexandria, Va., to Belgium. Lt. Col. Dubay is the director of operations and a Gulfstream V pilot with the 309th Airlift Squadron, Chièvres Air Base, Belgium, providing airlift for the Supreme Allied Commander Europe, European Command, and Africa Command.

Christine Prince (Nurs ’90 L/M) joined the nursing faculty at Brown Mackie College, Indianapolis, in January.
