Charles Lundelius (Com ’78 CM)
Charles R. Lundelius Jr. (Com ’78 L/M) published a revised edition of his book Financial Reporting Fraud, A Practical Guide to Detection and Internal Control on July 26, 2010 by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is senior managing director at FTI Consulting’s Washington, DC, office.

Doug Favre (Com ’72 CM)
Doug Favre (Com ’72 L/M) earned the certified school risk manager designation from The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research. He is president of Lackey Saunders Insurance Agency.
Johnny Ponder (Col ’99)
Johnny Ponder (Col ’99) and Crystal Marshall Ponder (Col ’03) will be celebrating their 5th wedding anniversary on Sept. 3, 2010. They have two children, David, 3, and Jasmine Olivia, 3 mos. The family resides in Jacksonville, FL.

Michael Haaren (Law ’79)
Michael Haaren (Law ’79) published his second book Work at Home Now (Career Press, November 2009). Coauthored by Christine Durst, the book is based on job-finding programs Mr. Haaren and Ms. Durst developed for the U.S. State Department and Armed Forces.
Mark Reynolds (Com ’96)

Mark Reynolds (Com ’96) and his wife, Nikki, welcomed their son, Jacob Cooper, on August 24, 2010. Jacob joins his brother, Cameron, 3; and sister, Caitlynn, 5. Mr. Reynolds is director of customer experience at Equinix, inc. He and his family reside in San Carlos, Calif.
Josh Krupnick (Engr ’02 CM)

Josh Krupnick (Engr ’02 L/M) and Laura Reid Krupnick (Engr ’04 L/M) welcomed their first child, Eli Dylan, on June 2, 2010. Eli is the grandson of Donald L. Reid Jr. (Engr ’78,’04) and the great-grandson of former associate professor of mechanical engineering Donald L. Reid (Engr ’51).

Ann Peldo Cargile (Col ’82, Law ’86 L/M) is a member of the Anglo-American Real Property Institute. Ms. Cargile is a partner in the Nashville office of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP.
Mark Reynolds (Com ’96)

Joe Carroll (Col ’61 CM)
Joe Carroll (Col ’61 L/M) retired in April after 33 years as publisher of Furniture/Today, the weekly business newspaper of the U.S. furniture industry. In May he delivered the commencement address at Kendall College of Art & Design in Grand Rapids, Mi., and received an honorary doctorate. In July he was named president of McNeill Communications, an advertising and public relations agency based in High Point, Nc.

Fran Kelleher (Col ’78)
Fran Kelleher (Col ’78) married Ken Jones on July 10, 2010, in Clarkesville, Md. Ms. Kelleher lives in the Washington, DC, area where she is pursuing positions related to health care reform.

Marc Olsen (Com ’01 L/M), Emily O’ Malley Olsen, Ben Hallen (Engr ’00 L/M), and Katie Underwood Hallen (Col ’03 L/M), shared an adventure to Peru and Machu Picchu in September 2010.

Jeff Stredler (Col ’88, Law ’91) is president of the Norfolk & Portsmouth Bar Association. Mr. Stredler is the litigation counsel for Amerigroup Corporation in Virginia Beach.
Rachel DeBacker (Arch ’02)

Rachel Baxter DeBacker (Arch ’02) and her husband, Jason DeBacker, welcomed their first child, Mark Octave, on August 6, 2010. The family resides in Alexandria, Va.

Nick McTyre (Col ’07 L/M) married Nancy Funkhouser (Col ’07) on June 12, 2010. The ceremony was at the U.Va. chapel and the reception was at a private home in Albemarle County.
Bianca Spinosa (Col ’08 CM)
Bianca Spinosa (Col ’08 L/M) is a television reporter for the NBC affiliate WLEX in Lexington, Ky. She left her hometown of Charlottesville after two years working as a television reporter for the Charlottesville Newsplex.
Jonathan Roumel (Com ’99 CM)
Jonathan Roumel (Com ’99 L/M) and his wife, Lindsay, welcomed their first child, Alexis Elizabeth, on May 17, 2010. The family resides in Houston, Tx.
Greg Feder (Col ’92, Law ’97 CM)
Greg Feder (Col ’92, Law ’97 L/M) joined the bank activities section in the legal division at the FDIC and will be working on regulations implementing the Dodd-Frank financial reform legislation. Emily Clayton Feder (Law ’97)has joined the U.S. Department of Education and will be monitoring compliance with the Randolph-Sheppard Act, which gives contracting preference to the visually impaired.
James Heaney (Col ’93 CM)
James Heaney (Col ’93 L/M) and his wife, Rebecca, welcomed their second child and daughter, Rachel Lauren Springer, born July 28, 2010.
Katherine Newell (Col ’04 CM)
Katie Campbell Newell (Col ’04 L/M) and Bill Newell welcomed their first child and son, Parker William, on June 11, 2010. The family resides in Jefferson, Ga.

Melanie Nicole Covington (Col ’97 L/M) married Segun Fabiyi on August 21, 2010 in Hilton Head, Sc. Melanie, a national marketing manager with Grant Thornton LLP, and Segun, a client account manager with JP Morgan, reside in New York.
Jonathan Kelley (Engr ’04 CM)

Jonathan Clay Kelley (Engr ’04 L/M) and Margaret Jessen Kelley (Col ’05 L/M) welcomed a son, John Edgar Clay on June 13, 2010. He is the first great-grandson of John Stoll Lillard (Col ’52 L/M).

Mark Arey (Col ’98)
Mark “Weeb” Arey (Col ’98) and his wife, Shuchi Shah, welcomed their son, Evan Kai, on June 21, 2010. Evan joins his older sister, Mikaela. Mr. Arey is a board-certified ophthalmologist practicing in Tampa, Fla.
Christopher Schreiner (Com ’93, Com ’94)

Christopher Schreiner (Com ’93, ’94) is the chief operating officer of Mason Investment Advisory Services, a financial planning and investment management firm in Reston, Va. The company was recognized among “America’s Top 100 Financial Planner RIAs” in July 2010 by Registered Rep. magazine. Mr. Schreiner resides in Arlington, Va.
Eric Gyauch (Engr ’82 CM)
Eric Gyauch (Engr ’82 L/M) and Ellen Gyauch Davis (Med ’86) celebrated their 50th birthday as twins. Eric, after five years of service in the U.S. Army, has worked for 24 years for Michelin Tire Corporation in manufacturing operations. He lives with his family in Columbia, S.C. Dr. Davis served 21 years in the US Army and recently retired as a full colonel. She continues to practice pediatric medicine in Seattle, Wash., where she lives with her family.
Katherine Rossi (Col ’03 CM)
Katherine Rossi (Col ’03 L/M) married Philipp Pierson on July 10, 2010, in Baltimore, Md. The couple resides in Washington, D.C., where Ms. Pierson is an attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice.

Billy Irvin (Col ’99) and his wife, Suzanne, welcomed their first child, Liam Robert, on June 5, 2010. The family resides in Durham, Nc.

Jared Marcantoni (Arch ’07)
Jared Marcantoni (Arch ’07) and Jodie Freed were married on July 10, 2010 in Tucson, Ariz. They reside in St. Louis, Mo., where Jared is pursuing a master’s at Washington University.
Karen Rogers (Law ’99)
Karen Randolph Rogers (Law ’99) has joined the U. S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights as an attorney in the Kansas City regional office. She and her husband, Doug , reside in Kansas City with their son, Alex, 2.
Devon Brinn (Col ’03)
Devon Hill Brinn (Col ’03) and Michael Brinn (Engr ’03) welcomed their first child, Connell Joseph, on May 18, 2010. The family resides in Falls Church, Va.

Brian Mulcahy (Col ’84 CM)
Brian M. Mulcahy (Col ’84 L/M) was elected prior provincial (major superior) of the Dominican Province of Saint Joseph on June 11, 2010. From 2002-2008, he served as pastor at St. Thomas Aquinas University Parish in Charlottesville. Father Mulcahy, in his current position, is based in New York City.
Kristina Wilmer (Col ’02, Darden ’07 CM)

Kristina Anderson Wilmer (Col ’02, Darden ’07 L/M) and her husband, Jack, welcomed their first child, John Whittingham Wilmer IV, on July 26, 2010. The family resides in Arlington, Va. Kristy will return to work in October as a senior associate at the Gladstone Companies, a private equity firm in McLean, Va.

Chris Ross (Col ’93 L/M) had his first novel, Assumption of the Risk, published by CreateSpace in August.
Tom Fitch (Educ ’79, Educ ’81 CM)
Tom Fitch (Educ ’79, ’81 L/M) has joined Academic Search, Inc., which specializes in searches for college and university presidents and senior administrators. Mr. Fitch holds a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia and lives in Atlanta, Ga.

Dan Kuckuck (Col ’06 CM)
Dan Kuckuck (Col ’06 L/M) received a master’s of divinity from the University of Chicago Divinity School in June. He is now serving as intern pastor at Christ Lutheran Church in Fairbanks, Alaska.

April Shimshock (Com ’02)
April Shimshock (Com ’02) and David Werner (Col ’02) were married at V. Sattui Winery in St. Helena, Ca., on July 4, 2010. Members of the wedding party included Julie Agostini (Com ’04 L/M), Amanda Shimshock Allen (Com ’07), Jinsoo Ro (Col ’01, Law ’07 L/M) and Stephanie Wilson (Com ’02 L/M). The couple honeymooned in Kauai, Hawaii before returning home to San Francisco, Ca. Ms. Werner currently works in investor relations with American Capital, Ltd., and Mr. Werner is currently the creative director at Minor Studios.

Adrienne Costello Tekampe (Col ’02) and her husband, Steve Tekampe, welcomed their first child, Samantha, on March 31, 2010. The couple resides in Fairfax, Va.

Michelle Lee (Col ’01 CM)
Michelle Lee (Col ’01) and Mark Weinhold (Col ’02) welcomed their first child, Andrew Hansoo, on August 2, 2010. The family resides in Alexandria, Va.
Wei-Shin Lai (Med ’02)
Dr. Wei-Shin Lai (Med ’02) married Jason Wolfe on October 14, 2009. She is the inventor and chief executive officer of SleepPhones and works part-time at the Penn State Student Health Center.
Captain Wood (Engr ’83 CM)

Captain Richard K. Wood II, USN (Engr ’83 L/M) relieved Captain Scott Galbreaith, USN (Col’83 L/M) as the commanding officer of Naval Base Guam on July 8, 2010. Also attending was Captain Tom Sparks, USCG (Law ’93) who is commander, Coast Guard Sector Guam. Rich, his wife, Betsy, and their son, Chip, will be in Guam for at least two years while their daughters, Caroline and Catherine, attend college in the states.

Steve Joynt (Col ’84 L/M) and Nancy Godwin Joynt (Col ’85 L/M) celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on June 29, 2010 by spending several days in Las Vegas.
Thomas Long (Grad ’61)
Thomas A. Long (Grad ’61) published a medical memoir of his 55 years as a patient at the Mayo Clinic entitled If This Isn’t Cincinnati, It Must Be Mayo.
Evan Macbeth (Col ’97 CM)

Evan D. Macbeth (Col ’97 L/M) and Abbe L. Hoffman Macbeth (Col ’01 L/M) welcomed their second child, Henry Evan on April 12, 2010. Evan is a director at Sine Nomine Associates in Ashburn, Va. Abbe has been pursuing a post-doctoral fellowship at the National Institutes of Mental Health since receiving her Ph. D. from the Graduate Center at the City University of New York in 2006.
Don Webb (Col ’94 CM)
Don Webb (Col ’94 L/M) was awarded the North Carolina Internal Affairs Investigators’ Association Distinguished Service Award for 2010. Don is a sergeant with the Greensboro Police Department in Greensboro, Nc., where he lives with his wife, Kimberly, and daughter, Sarah Madalyn (Maddie).
Patricia Homa (Col ’80 CM)

Patricia Maggio Homa (Col ’80 L/M) retired as a special agent from the Federal Bureau of Investigation in September, 2008, and has opened her own law practice focusing on estate planning and administration, business contracts law, and elder law. She resides in Hampstead, Nc., with her husband and two children.

Andrew Flavell (Educ ’06)
Andrew Flavell (Educ ’06) married Kristin Littzi on July 9, 2010 at Our Lady of Grace Parish in Palm Bay, Fla. The couple resides in Pittston, Pa., where they are employed by Geisinger Sports Medicine as certified athletic trainers. Brian Friscia (Educ ’06) was a groomsman for their wedding.
Jill Maurer (Col ’02 CM)

Jill Ingram Maurer (Col ’02 L/M) and her husband, Daniel Maurer, welcomed their third child, Alexander Finn, on June 15, 2010. Alex joins sister, Abigail, 4; and brother, Jake, 1. Abby, Jake, and Alex are the grandchildren of A.L. Vernon Ingram (Engr ’73 A/M). Jill and the children are living in Woodbridge, Va., while Dan, a captain in the U.S. army, is deployed to Iraq.
Erwin Will (Com ’56)
Erwin Will (Com ’56) is interim chief investment officer of the West Virginia University Foundation. He serves on several investment advisory committees for organizations in Richmond, Va., including the Virginia Historical Society, Virginia Commonwealth University’s Medical College of Virginia Foundation, and Virginia Retirement Systems.

Stacy Flayton Trimble (Col ’86 L/M) has received the Teacher of the Year Award from the Hazlet Middle School in Hazlet, Nj. Ms. Trimble has been a 7th and 8th grade science and math teacher for five years.

A. Todd Sprinkle (Col ’00 L/M) and his wife, Nina Goradia Sprinkle (Com ‘00 L/M), announce the births of twins Carmen Ila and Priya Elizabeth, on Jul. 24, 2010. They join their brother, Charles Allen, who was born on September 29, 2008. The family resides in Charlotte, Nc.

Timothy Jarrett (Col ’94 CM)
Timothy Jarrett (Col ’94 L/M) and his wife, Lisa, welcomed Michael Angelo Christian, their second child and first son, on August 14, 2010. He joins his sister, Anna. Mr. Jarrett is director of product management with Veracode; Mrs. Jarrett is a product manager at IBM. The family resides in Arlington, Ma.
