Steve Nerheim (Eng ’97 L/M) and his wife, Cathy, welcomed their second child, Charlotte, on Sept. 1, 2009. Later that month, Steve graduated from the MBA program at the College of William & Mary. The family resides in Richmond, Va.

Anna Levin (Col ’02 CM)

Anna Levin (Col ’02 L/M) and Tal Rosen were married in Philadelphia, Pa., on November 1, 2008. Anna was ordained as a rabbi from Hebrew Union College/Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati, Ohio, in June 2009 and now serves as director of Jewish life at the Newberger Hillel Center at the University of Chicago.

David I. Brown (Col ’95 L/M) and his wife, Julie, welcomed their second child, Cody Howard, on February 21, 2010. Cody joins his brother, Carter, 3. The family lives in McLean, Va.

Jennifer Newman (Grad ’02) is the owner of The Ink Editor, a company that provides proofreading and editorial services. She resides in Grand Blanc, Mi., with her husband and her three children.
Lindsey Moore (Arch ’03)
Lindsey Gertz Moore (Arch ’03) is director of Admissions and Marketing for Covenant Classical Christian School in Columbia, Sc. She was formerly the director of the South Carolina Design Arts Partnership, a program of the South Carolina Arts Commission and Clemson University. From 2009-2010, Lindsey attended Columbia International University where she received her master of arts in teaching. She and her husband, David, reside in Forest Acres.
Alan Ibarra (Col ’92)
Alan Ibarra (Col ’92 A/M) and his wife Verna welcomed fraternal twins Andrew Luke and Matthew Lim, on July 19, 2010 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. The boys join sister Lily Emma, 4. Alan is IT manager for the Alzheimer’s Association Southeastern Virginia Chapter, where he has worked for 6 years, and Verna is an RN. They were married in September 2005 and reside in Virginia Beach.

Andrew G. Beacher (Engr ’04) is director of the Office of Transportation Services for Loudoun County in Leesburg, Va. Mr. Beacher leaves the positions of assistant director and highways division manager that he had held since 2006.

Mark Dewalt (Grad ’86 CM)
Mark W. Dewalt (Grad ’86 L/M) is chair of the newly formed Department of Counseling, Leadership and Educational Studies in the College of Education at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, Sc. Mr. Dewalt recently published his third book, The Life and Times of Thomas Jefferson. Mr. Dewalt’s previous books include Amish Education in the United States and Canada (2006) and The Life and Times of Abe Lincoln (2008).

David Black (Educ ’64, Educ ’67 L/M) published a collection of poetry, The Clown in the Tent (Persimmon Tree Press).
Brandi Sharp (Col ’08, Grad ’13 CM)
Brandi Sharp (Col ’08 L/M) was among six Ph.D. students awarded a two-year Cell and Molecular Biology Training Grant. The grant will support her research on transcriptional output pathways of the circadian clock. Ms. Sharp is earning her doctorate in biology at U.Va.

Salama Abdurrahim (Col ’02 L/M) and Michael K. Atadika, Jr. (Col ’01) were married June 19, 2010 at Lyndhurst in Tarrytown, Ny. Katherine Martini (Com ’02, Darden ’08 L/M) and Scott Miles were married October 10, 2009. Katherine is enjoying consulting (and traveling) with the human capital practice of Deloitte Consulting, while Scott stays close to their home in Malvern, Pa., where he is an investment analyst for Vanguard.

Jennifer Christian Mallare (Nurs ’87 L/M) received Virginia licensure to teach elementary grades in June. Ms. Mallare completed a Master of Arts in teaching at Mary Baldwin College in May and teaches third grade in Roanoke City, Va.

Bruno Binkley (Com ’90 L/M) and Erin Hintenach were married on May 21, 2010, in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The wedding party included the sister of the groom, Jackeline Short (Com ’91), and the children of the groom: Carson, 9; and Gavin, 7. The couple resides near Clifton, Va., where both focus on customer relationship management for Accenture.

Ms. Decker works in employer relations at the F. David Fowler Career Center in the George Washington University School of Business.

Elva Angelique Van Devender (Grad ’02) was named a John Gans Scholar by the American Pharmacist Association. Ms. Van Devender also received the Student Leadership Award from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. She is currently earning her doctor of pharmacy at Oregon State University.
